King Arthur: The Role-playing Wargame II Previews

Neocore's King Arthur sequel might still be mysteriously absent from Steam's new release list, but that hasn't stopped a couple more websites from posting hands-on previews. First up is Gaming Bus:
The era that this game takes place before the events of King Arthur, the Round Table, and Merlin. The player takes the role of Septimus Sulla, a war hero who has fallen in battle and subsequently saved by a familiar yet portentous nature person. The role playing takes root at this very early stage, appearing in cutscenes. What you say obviously effects this person's reactions, but I can't say exactly how given that this is a preview.

At this point, you take Septimus Sulla and his army into battle. Here you have a choice to Auto-battle, Battle, or Retreat. In the preview, you can only choose Battle, and this is the first time where it changes from TBS into RTS. This real-time battle is your first foray into how differently this game handles combat, special field abilities, and your special items for your heroic units. This will be further flushed out after you make other choices.

And then we turn to Gamercast for more:
Adventure quests are a mini choose-your-own-adventure tale where choosing to perform certain actions, such as braving an abandoned forest alone, or sacrificing yourself before others will affect your morality and on occasion reward you items or even new heroes to fight alongside. The adventure quests often propel the story forwards, as well as show yourself what sort of leader you really are.

All battles are fought in real time, and magical relics on the battlefield can help sway your victory, however thankfully, to stop yourself getting caught in sticky situations, before you choose to battle you are shown a difficulty for your opponent, this prevents you from running headfirst into a battle you surely cannot win, and allows you to '˜auto battle' the skirmishes that you feel are simply not worth your time.
