Dungeons Preview

A quick visit to GameDynamo will net you another preview of Dungeons, should Realmforge's strategy/RPG crossbreed managed to make a blip on your gaming radar. The usual excerpt:
Dungeons is an interesting amalgam of the simulation, tower defense, RTS, and RPG genres. The bulk of the game is spent issuing orders to goblin mooks to dig, build, and replenish your dungeon in order to make it tantalizing to adventurers. You'll also have to strategically setup pentagram spawn points so that monsters will populate your haunted corridors. The stronger you become as a Dungeon Lord, the more options you'll have at your disposal to set against the unwary heroes. Not only are options more plentiful, they get a lot more powerful too.

By giving adventurers big loot caches and access to tomes of knowledge, the more Soul Energy they will drop once they're put down. Of course, give them too much power and equipment and you'll find yourself at the mercy of truly dangerous foes. That's when you will have to hop into the body of the Dungeon Lord and physically defend your goblin minions and '˜Dungeon Heart' from adventurers that get too tough for your creations. This is when the game switches from RTS / Sim / tower defense to RPG.
