Dragon Age Legends Blog Update

Dragon Age Legends producer Ethan Levy took to the game's official blog to explain why they're developing the game for Facebook rather than a standard Flash game like Journeys was. He also discusses some of their goals for the project:
In the studio, we have four design pillars that drive development. One is (Meaningful Social Gaming). Legends can be played solo, but it is infinitely better with friends. On one hand, you will compete to create the best hero with the coolest castle and most powerful loot. On the other, you will cooperate by pulling their heroes into every battle. When you use your friends' heroes, you are rewarded by being able to easily destroy darkspawn and demons. Your friends are rewarded by earning earn gold for every battle you use them in. Legends has many social interactions, but using your friends to defeat monsters is key.

Another common misconception is that playing on Facebook means you will have to spam your friends. This is simply not true. For one, we follow another design pillar: (Virality with Integrity). We want to build games, not spam machines. On top of our personal commitment to integrity, Facebook has also made significant changes to the way games work on the site. Only friends who are playing Legends will see it if you choose to share your latest quest with the world.
