Big Download seems to be churning out a lot of RPG-related articles lately, with the most recent being this interview with an unnamed Realmforge team member about their forthcoming RPG/strategy crossbreed, Dungeons.
How does the player use the creation of dungeons and traps to move ahead in the game?

Heroes constantly enter your dungeon. They have certain desires they want to satisfy. For example, a fighter is looking for equipment and a good fight, a thief searches for gold and a mage is looking for wisdom. The player tries to satisfy those desires by placing monsters, traps, gold, magic items etc. in the dungeon. This part is important because happy heroes build up soul energy which is a very important resource in the game. So the challenge is to entertain the heroes until they're happy enough, and then kill them, in order to steal their soul energy. Soul energy can be used for many things, for example, to make your Dungeon Lord stronger. Because the heroes level up throughout the game, you have to get stronger in order to stand a chance against them. Because higher level heroes have more needs, you have to expand your dungeon more and more. Of course, you're not only getting stronger to beat heroes, but to keep up with other Dungeon Lords, too!
