Problem, Flashing screen and dissapearing words at menu!

I have this problem when I start the game. I load it up and i get to the menu and theres one word on the menu that isnt there but theres a letter from it flashing on and off really fast.I dont know what the word was because i just got the game. And when I click campaign A bunch of the letters were the words should be keep flashing. then i got to create a character and the picture of the race doesnt show up and some letters where some attributes are are just flashing. I cant really tell what im doing in it because abunch of the letters from the words keep on flashing and you cant read it. I start in the game at the start and the hole game starts to falsh on and off on and off on and off really fast. i mean like the whole thing that is showing up on screen. when i exit everythings flashing on and off really fast too. my desktop my icons everything . I have to resatart the computer every time. Ive tried reinstalling it ive patched it. heres my specs.

operating system: amd athlon 3000+
ram: 1 gb
video card: Nvidia GeForce 6600

WHAT DO I DO THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!

Try updating the drivers for your vid card and check you have up to date direct x. If that doesn't work, can you try installing on a different pc? It may be a fault with the copy of the game.
