Has anyone managed to Dual class to a druid ?
I'm particularly interested in going from an Archer to a Druid.A fighter would do.
But i don't seem to be able to despite trying high Wiz. & Char.
can it be done..
Kane - I just looked it up in the manual for BG2 on page 35 and found the following.
"Characters not allowed dual-class status include Paladins, Rangers, and Druids."
I'm assuming this means both ways - either starting as a Druid or trying to dual over into a Druid.
I think your only option to escape playing a pure Druid would be to go with a multi-class (eg: Fighter/Druid like Jaheira) but I'm not sure if that's what you were looking for.
Good luck,
ElvenKing
P.S: I'm sorry if I'm being a master of the obvious, but your character is human, right? The only reason I say this is because a long time ago I wanted to dual over a kick-ass fighter I imported from BG1. The only problem was he was an Elf...
Boy did I feel dumb!
Archer=Ranger kit.
Rangers cannot dual class.(I think that the cleric/ranger is a bug).
Also dual and multiclass Druids cannot get the druid stronghold (not enough level and bug that prevents form seeing a 14 level druid in dual class)
im dueling one now for more info on dueling go to http://www.gamebanshee.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=003545
a) rangers must be good, druids must be true neutral.
b) druid & cleric weapons restrictions trump everything in a dual class char. i.e. a ftr druid will still be limited to whatever weapons a druid can use
Druids can dual to fighter or vice versa. If you meet the requirements. True neutral and high charisma and wisdom and strenght. Ranger/cleric is a valid multi so therefore the dual exists aswell.
Avenger/fighter is a strong dual. You need bg1 or sk to do it though.
Any multi-class combo is allowed as a dual-class combo. Since there is such a thing as a half-elf fighter/druid, you can have a human fighter dualled to druid or vice versa. In order to dual class, you need to be human, and you need 17+ in the prime attributes of the class you are dualling to. I think that would mean strength for the fighter, wisdom and charisma for the druid. You can choose a kit for your first class but not your second. Also, if you want to be or dual to a druid, you need to be True Neutral in alignment.
