Balanced Cleric of Lathander RP Build

Post by Jatsu »

Greetings All,

I am working on a cleric build. I am currently going to use him in Shadowlords, and later Dreamcatcher. Possibly also in the official campaign and later SoU if I get that. I love the deity Lathander, and wish to RP this character as a disciple of The Morninglord as accurately as possible.
Based on this I will select the Sun and Strength domains, and because priests of Lathander are expected to be physically fit and active and all that, I’m pushing for more of a meleeish build. I’m not sure about the weapon aspect of this build however. I know that Lathander favors maces, but does that restrict his priests to using maces as well? This is what I have so far:

Oriseus Zora
Human
STR 14, DEX 10, CON 14, WIS 15, INT 12, CHA 12
(maybe INT 10 CHA 14, or INT/CHA 10 STR 16)

Skills
Concentration – Max
Spellcraft – Max
Persuade – Max (RP)
Extra: Heal, Lore

Feats (in order)
Power Attack, Cleave, Combat Casting, Extend Spell, Lightning Reflexes, Toughness, Spell Penetration, Maximize Spell, Empower Spell

I’m open to any and all suggestions here, including multiclassing possibilities.

Thankyou in advance.

Let's see.

Lathander, the Morning Lord
neutral good
spring, dawn, birth, youth, vitality, athletics
domains: Good, Nobility, Protection, Renewal, Strength, Sun

Click me for Lathander's symbol

So from a roleplay perspective strength and sun domain are very good.

You maybe want to take 2 points from int and put it into cha, what will help you with destroying undeads.

Multiclassing? When I play a cleric of Brandobaris, I of course put in some rogue levels.
For pure stats you could take some fighter levels for more feats. Or barbarian for runspeed and hitpoints.
