Thief loses special abilities

My lev 18 fighter dualed to lev 13 thief; has recently lost the ability to set traps.
I've no idea why. She had been quite happily setting them as a low level thief but for some reason cannot do it anymore.
All her other thieving abilities ie. pick locks etc. are intact.
Ive tried removing all equipment but that doesnt have an effect.
Is this a bug can anyone help.
Also i have the patch installed.
HELP!!!!

perhaps a dumb question, but....have you used up your traps? have you tried resting?

For some reason my kensai could cast draw upon holy might and cure light wounds but when he hit Level 15 or something like that he only had Kai left.

@izgoth - you lose those special abilities when you gain the slayer ability.

yeh nael,dumb question i'm afraid.
No my spec. abils. button has gone black and unusable on that chr.

I had this problem to with Edwin in one of my games.
He had a spell sequencer stored, The icon showed up on his pic, but his special abilities button was blacked out.
Sounds like a recurring bug. Try dling the patch, but I don't think that will do anything after it's busted. Still, might return after you rest.
