Monk/Druid Question

Post by GawainBS »

I searched the NWN2 Wiki, but the answers weren't satisfactory.
How does Monk/Druid interact when Shapechanged? IIRC, you keep Flurry of Blows (and it works)and the Monk AC (wether or not you were using a shield & armour prior to wildshaping?)?
Also, you apply your weapon enhancement bonus to your attacks while wildshaped. Does this stack with Greater Magic Fang?

Thanks in advance!

Wild Shape - NWN2Wiki, the Neverwinter Nights 2 wiki - Races, classes, skills, and more

"This feature however only merges the highest magical properties (they do not stack). Thus, if a druid is wearing Leather +1 and carrying a Small Shield +2, the total AC bonus brought over to the new shape is +2, not +3. Additional properties of these three item types are also brought over (concentration bonuses, damage reduction, resistances, etc.)."

Druid - NWN2Wiki, the Neverwinter Nights 2 wiki - Races, classes, skills, and more

"The following list are some examples of how to use them to your greatest advantage.

Flurry of blows: This first level Monk feat can be used in conjunction with your Wild shape attacks providing +1 attack per round with the penalties listed.

Greater flurry: This eleventh level Monk feat is an upgrade to Flurry of blows providing two additional attacks per round instead one.

Monk AC Bonus(Wisdom): This first level Monk ability allows the player to add his Wisdom bonus(if any) to his AC when unarmored or using his Wild shape ability. The player also gains a +1 bonus to AC at 5th level Monk which increases by another +1 every 5 Monk levels.
He loses these bonuses when he is immobilized or helpless, when he wears any armor, or when he carries a shield.
Still useful in online play, where armored monks do not receive higher AC when shifted.

Sneak attack: All sneak attack bonus damage works normally when a Druid is shifted.

Barbarian Rage does work in creature form if activated before Wild Shape.
Frenzied Berserker Frenzy does work in creature form if activated before Wild Shape."

Attacks:

No enhancements or focuses transfer.. It's because the attack is considered a "creature" attack, not unarmed (or something else). Note that a Sacred Fist results in a -8 attack penalty.

Only Greater Magic Fang and Jagged Tooth work (not Greater Magic Weapon or Natures Avatar).

Your BAB transfers.

Bracers of Armour +X still give the +X to AC, right? I seem to recall they don' stack with the +X from armour, so I guess it's the same for Wildshape.

Thanks for pointing this out.

One more question: if your aligment changes, you don't actually *lose* Monk abilities, right? You just stop being able to advance in the class?

I don't know about magical item bonuses.. (I *think* they are still good, but I don't know - and it's something you'll need to test yourself.) Certainly magical bonuses from spells still work.

You don't loose any abilities from an alignment problem.. you only loose special abilities if you are doing something prohibited.. and even then sometimes not.

EX.. I believe the shield bonus bug was never fixed.

Essentially you should loose your Monk AC Wisdom bonus if you equip a shield.. however, once you shape-shift (with a shield equipped) the shield no longer appears equipped for the purpose of determining the loss of Monk AC Wisdom bonus. Therefor you get both the Shield AC and the Monk AC Wisdom bonus. (..or at least that's how it used to work.) This does NOT work for armor.
