Order of the Dark Flame (Story, No Spam)
Kramor got up and went to Thantor.
Pulling Dp's dagger out of his side. Kramor slapped it in Thantor's palm, Kramor looked at the bloody dagger.
"That is what Dp, was talking about. If I had my armor on, that wouldn't of happened. Excuse me, I need to go heal, by myself."
Kramor walked back to the Keep.

Dragon Wench was beginning to wonder if everyone was slightly mad.
Dark Poet's behaviour was disturbing, to say the least. And then there was Nippy. she wished that he would have taken at least some of them on his journey. That he was a fine and gifted warrior was beyond dispute, but they were dealing with an unpredictable and profoundly evil foe. Anything could happen to Nippy on his journey. But losing her temper, she realised, was unhelpful. She found her way to the kitchen in search of peppermint tea. As she entered she discovered Gwalchmai's brooding countenance gazing thoughtfully out of the window.
Remembering an earlier thought, she went up to him.
"I owe you thanks. This morning you tried to save my life, and then...you brought me back before attending to your own wounds."
Then, feeling uncomfortable at the gravity of her own tone, she smiled lightly,
"By the way, that was a great presentation you gave, but you forgot the slides."

Thantor threw the dagger on the ground in digust. Everything was degenerating into chaos, so yes, why not be guided by someone with a questionable grip on his sanity. He walked over to where Gwalchmai and Dragon Wench were talking and told them he was going after Darkpoet. Georgi came up to them as they were speaking and heard what he had said. "Anyone is welcome to join me. It may be fruitless, but he is in a dangerous and vulnerable state. I don't feel right about just leaving him out there alone."
Those who will play with kitties must expect to be scratched.

Georgi was already marching back to the keep. She hurried to her room and strapped on her armour, then knocked on Kramor's door. Hearing a grunt from within, she went in. He was standing with his back to the door, staring out of the window.
"If you know what's going on, I suggest you tell me before anyone else gets hurt, Kramor. In any case, we need to find DP, and quick. I don't care if you come or not, but you know him better than anyone else here, where would he go?"

Who, me?!?
Kramor went to the room, taking off his shirt. Taking a rag and cleaning off his chest, seeing that it wasn't deep. He went to work on his side, it was going to take time to heal. Looking at his shirt on the floor, he noticed a folded piece of paper. Kramor picked it up and read it. He heard Georgi and told her.
"Dp has a nine hundred year old Drow demon, controling him. The only way to kill the demon is to kill Dp."
Kramor looked a the floor.
"How could we be so selfish and stupid?"
He sat in a chair and looked out the window.

Vivien was in the kitchen aimlessly neatening as she thought it over. She had just been too surprised when Darkpoet had changed. Maybe if she had gotten to him, he wouldn't have had to leave? No... He probably would have killed her. She felt a sadness rush through her again, and sighed slightly, vaguely aware of Thantor, Gwalchmai and Dragonwench talking near her.
She didn't know if they would want to know, but there seemed to be a break in the conversation.
"Ummmm...I'm sorry to break in, but well, it's a bit hard to explain. It's not that I studied demonic posession, it's just that the books I was supposed to be reading on transmutation were so darn boring, that I occassionally brought in some lighter material. There are many different ways to deal with possession, and the most important thing I remember was that not all demons are necessarily evil, some have brought luck and power, for the chance to have some form of mortal life. But...Darkpoet didn't seem to have one of those... There are ways to drive a demon out, but it's rather chancy if it will work at all..."

Dragon Wench, whose thoughts for much of the day had dwelt on the more corporeal elements of human existence could not resist smirking and raising her eyebrow questioningly at Vivien.

Vivien blushed slightly, as if she could almost read Dragonwench's mind, and then continued.
"Well, if any of us knew a god, and if that god held any sway over Darkpoet's mind or spirt, the demon could then be forced from his body. But, I don't know if we do know any who would come at a moments notice. God's are very stuffy."
She looked down for a second.
"I know Darkpoet very well, as he is like family, but I don't know if that will help us. The very best way for a demon to be rid, is if the person possessed takes an active part. There always is a loss, or anger, fear, hate, worry, some negative force which allows the opening in a persons soul. Darkpoet would need to make the demon leave, by allowing it no other hold on himself. The demon is able to fill him because of his anger and loss, if he were to find something else to live for, I think we could seperate the demon. But, I don't think Darkpoet has anything to live for right now..."
She looked up and grinned.
"Or we could tie him to a bed, and get a priest to come chant at him for awhile."

"Actually, I do..." Thantor c0cked this head to one side, as if listening to something. "Will you excuse me for a moment?"
Racing up to Loner's room, Thantor found her wandering aimlessly, mumbling to herself. Alarmed, Thantor quickly entered the room and administered 60 mls of high-intensity, rut gut whiskey, stat. Slowly, Loner reverted back to normal consciousness.
"Are you alright?" asked Thantor, concerned.
"I'll be ok."
"You may want to erect a Prosac barrier when you are in your room alone. It seems that our adversaries are easily able to breach our defenses." Loner nodded. Then she looked at him and said, "Thantor, what is going on? Everything seems to be falling apart. Nippy running off, Darkpoet possessed. You winking at me." She smiled when she she said this. "Mind telling me what that was all about, by the way?" she asked, eyebrow arched. Thantor smiled. "A gentleman does not discuss such things. But to answer your previous question, I believe I am starting to see a pattern in all the chaos. At first, I wondered if Nippy was actually being given visions from an evil source, manipulated as it were. I am less convinced of this now, but it is still a possibility. The increasing intensity of Darkpoet's instability speaks to manipulation by an outside agency."
"The Shadow Master?"
"I believe so. The timing of the present outburst so close to retrieving Jennabard suggests this. Divide and conquer. I also do not believe the Shadow Master we faced at Ogre Falls was the true Shadow Master."
"You mean you think it was a doppleganger or some sort?"
"No, more like a simulcrum. I think as a whole the Dark Flames overestimate their importance to the Shadow Master's plans. An entity such as this would have several irons in the fire and certainly would not put all his eggs in one basket. I believe it is naive to think he would actually put himself in harm's way when a lackey could have done just a well. His tactics suggest he is trying to stall us. This would explain the chaos and instability we are currently experiencing. Finally, if he is controlling the demon that controls Darkpoet, we could be walking into a trap. I would like to have you with us when we go after Darkpoet, but do prepare for this possibility, just in case. I don't want anything to happen to you, Loner. I feel like I've already lost you once." And then, very uncharacteristically, he hugged her and left the room to finish his preparations.

Loner, still feeling the burn of the whiskey and liking it
, and still marveling at the sudden change in her teacher, stood for a moment contemplating the general situation. Nippy going to Kara-Tur...she had often thought about going back herself, if for no other reason than to find out if her old master, Lomoro, was still living.
She sighed. That could wait. There was a more pressing matter to attend to. She gathered her things and went in search of Thantor, to tell him she would go with him to find DP. She still had no idea what had happened with Kramor, how he had been injured.
