But it doesn't say that. It says the Dragon crashed into the ground after having it's wing membrane torn out. If I were that dragon, I'd be scampering after the one who did that, but instead another dragon chases. why wouldn't the other one? The only explaination I can come to is that it is dead, or hurt so badly that it can't even walk.Originally posted by T'lainya
Ok "far from dead, momentary loss of wing control" and "out of the battle for the moment" sounds like dead and dying? I thought it was fairly clear that it was a temporary breather so we weren't facing 3 dragons at once. I also think it allows some concentration on each battle.
Dark Flame Discussion Thread II
I get the impression that you're talking of two different things, let me see if I can clear this up a bit.
So the male dragon should be on the ground (not the tower top) too and rather injured. I don't know if he can still fly, in any case not far, just to the tower top but not farther perhaps?
Now, Obsidian had posted that he is being chased after by a dragon, he never said which one.
It might be the male because Farscape attacked and grounded him.
But I thought it might also be the female who recovered from the implosion spell, saw her mate being injured and is now trying to defend him. The male would then be recovering from his last wound for the moment and should then attack once more.
So, our three dragons are still in action, the Dracolich being currently on the tower top.
Hope this helps
If I read this correctly, the female dragon plummeted to the ground (not the tower top) after loosing control of her wings and should soon be up in the air again.by T'Lainya:
She turned to the smaller shadow dragon and cast Implosion. The results were spectacular, if dangerous. The dragon roared out, the sound seemed to be muffled and the dragon plummeted to the ground as it momentarily lost control of its wings. It was far from dead, but it was out of the battle for the moment.
This should concern the male dragon we'd been fighting (i.e. Aegis, BS, Farscape and me).by Obsidian:
Drawing Redeemer as he soared past the dragons maw, he used the blade to catch the beasts wing, and as he fell, the wing membrane was cleanly silced by the keen blade. The intense pain of the new wound sent the shadow creature hurtling towards the ground,....

I was having trouble figuring out what dragon Aegis was talking about.

I really cannot see where the confusion is - unless of course I am equally confused. We have no dead dragons, only two injured ones. The way I see it, Obsidian attacked the dragon that was being fought by the rangers on the tower (male dragon) - since he specifically named Aegis and Mysteria. I read his post as being chased by the same dragon. Nippy, I believe is now planning an attack with BS on the other dragon (female), that was grounded by T'lainya.

Obsidian stole my idea, except he needs to be doing more screaming while he runs.
And for the record, I am not sure which dragon me and Nippy are facing, but have decided not to look close enough to tell the difference.

How very ...erm...diplomatic of you!
I have PM'd Obsidian, asking him to post in DF Discussion to clear up some of this confusion.
On this note, it is obvious that communication is important for continuity and clarity - so please keep each other up to date with your story ideas, and it would be polite to refrain from the sarcastic smilies - we are not all mind readers

Hey Everyone, I'm really sorry I've never really read this thread, or posted here or anything really, I just like playing around with my character and all the outstanding characters you have all made. Once again, I feel kind of guilty
Anyways, Ysh has kindly brought it to my attention I probably should be looking into this thread.
So I'll just hammer out some info on my character.
Name: Lord Jace Khorun. As a young boy, he was abondoned by his mother, and his father was unknown to him. He spent his early years as an assistant to a band of brigands, mostly rangers and good bards and thieves. It appeared he was destined to become an excellent ranger, who could sing, dance and do many things a thief could. His agility and co-ordination was unparalled and as a boy of 12 could wield 2 weapons like a master. When he was 14 however, the band ran afoul of another group, and a battle ensued. Armed only with a hatchet, the young Jace flew into battle, fighting with a ferocity that terrified everyone. That day he slew 13 men in single combat. Scared of what the boy had become, they asked him to leave.
Devastated, Jace wandered for 3 months, until he stumbled upon the doorstep of a noble in Athlatka. Suffering from numerous cuts and a high fever, he was nursed back to health by the family of Lord Keldorn Firecam. As Jace's strength returned, Keldorn saw great potential in the troubled young man, and brought him to the order to be trained as a paladin. (Ranger lvl 4, Paladin lvl 1)
In the competitve entry to the Order of the Radian Heart, Jace excelled, defeating all opponents in his own unorthodox method of dual wielding. Though many paladins feared and distrusted him, Jace had a powerful patron in Sir Firecam, and since he had been first in every field, made his appearance in the Order. (Ranger lvl 4, Paladin lvl 4)
Now 17, Jace spent 8 yrs in the Service of Torm, serving as Keldorns aid. After one great battle in which he and Keldorn saved a village from orcs, Khoron was awarded his first boons from Torm, the Axe Redemption (Small axe +2, +1 to AC and Thaco), and a suit of finely crafted chainmail. (chainmail +1, +1 to all saving throws)
At the age of 25, (ranger lvl 4, Paladin lvl 8) Jace had a grave failure. In a horrendous battle, in his fury, he killed an innocent through his "reckless" use of his warhorse Fist. The animal was killed was put down by the order, and Jace was reprimended severly. Furious, Sir Khoron left the Order, and forsake Torm as a for letting this happen to him. Returning to the woods, he became the classic black knight, fighting any and all that came his way. Years passed, and he grew more and more powerful. Every night, however he was troubled by terrible dreams. It became so bad he went to he nearest cleric, fearing he had been possesed. It was then he found his father was the lord of demons.
He snapped, and for the next 3 yrs he was known only as Farscape. He became obsessed with a stone of magical power that he thought would cure him and make him even stronger, and he used his power without discrimination. His search eventually led him to the keep...
That would be the bio of Farscape. As you may or may not know, he regained his Paladin hood (ranger 8, Paladin lvl 16) and has cleared himself of his evil soul.
If you've been reading the story, he took down one of the shadow dragons, the male, during it's plunge into the castle, and is being chased by the female dragon through the woods. He's just turned to fight it, but is getting wooped.
Thanks again for letting me post in your awesome stories, and I hope my character and sub plots can help somehow. If you ever want to ask me anything, my e-mail is dark_griffen@hotmail.com. I'll get back to you faster than through PMs probably.

@Obsidian - thank you, nice biography!
I am sure you are not the only person to have ever posted and not read - either this thread, or even the story itself on occasion
This thread is an important source of reference material - and of course a way of diverting the spam from the story!
