That's how half the stuff is fixed. You twiddle enough, and eventually, it works. Then you step away slowly, and never EVER mess with it again, and it continues to work perfectly. If it works, and you change something to make it better, it'll stop working, and the last thing won't fix it anymore.

Yep, don't worry, it'll be fine...

And if it isn't, then just threaten it a few times, that always works.

Ha. No. Apparently my mother was getting mixed up with what had happened with his Council Tax when telling me about this.
He just throws away letters from the TV licensing people apparently. If they had ordered him to court, he wouldn't know, as he would have thrown the letter away. :D

Brave... or stupid?

That's one way to avoid threatening letters...

As is often the case - both :p

Rav, I do not believe they will ever go to court. I think what they are doing is illegal and they know it.

And even if bailiffs arrived, seeing as he had done nothing wrong and they need a warrant they can't get in... *shrugs*

And supported or ignored by the government too.

Under impulse of the (Flemish) socialists, license fees for TV & Radio (called "Kijk en luistergeld" = "Watch & Listenmoney") were abolished some years ago and operating costs of the public broadcasting company are now mainly financed by general taxes. Socialists felt that the license fee type of tax for TV was unfair (since the same for poor & rich) and better to be financed out of the general taxes, which are progressive. Move over to the continent mi-lady. ;)

@Fiona, Yeah, they're probably a part of the government, but not above scrutiny...
Or not supposedly.

I wish. :( Of course that's the sensible way to do it. So there is precisely no chance of it happening here.

Sounds like fun... I wish we got basketball games on TV out here, well, on free-to-air that is. They have it on foxtel... but we aren't paying for that.

I'm alright, back at school, so sadly, I have to do some study later today. :(

@Les: I think that's how they do it here in Aus too.

I'd say Oz, but then it sounds all American (don't ask me why).

Maybe with things like Ozzy Osbourne (he is not Australian) :p .

And those munchkins are ours by right!

Yes, I love basketball more than I do some of my family members. I'm a sports freak, but basketball has been my favorite since I was little to both play and watch. Love it, wouldn't have anything to do with my time without it and is the source of all my physcial excercise. I'm sorry you don't get it, I'll try and give you play by play on occasion :D .

Sorry you're at school again, were you off for a break or something?
