My biggest fear is loneliness. I can handle being by myself, but I can't handle loneliness... :(

A few years ago I was extremely lonely and because of that, I became extremely depressed, even suicidal... :( That's most likely why I'm so afraid of loneliness. :(

Autophobia/Isolophobia/Monophobia is the fear of being alone or fear of solitude. I think it's very similar to your fear of looking up at tall buildings SS.

Essentially, I think your true fear is being overlooked and being left by yourself. Where you left alone as a child? Forgotten at the mall? I remember that scared me once. I was lost at the mall when I was about 5 or so... of course mum and dad were just over the next shelf, so, well, lets just say crisis averted ;)

Do you know of any reason why you think your afraid of being by yourself? Do you suffer those impulses like Vivien? :D

Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

It's more just the feeling of loneliness than being alone. If I know I'm only going to be alone temporarily, I'm fine. If I don't know how long I'll be alone, then I start to get scared. :(

I don't remember ever being left alone as a child. Well, whenever we went shopping, I would go to either the toy section, electronics, or books while my parents did their shopping. If it took long enough that I got bored at all three places, I would wonder what was taking my parents so long. Sometimes, I would start wondering the store looking for them and usually ended up scared and in tears before finding them. :( Similar things happened when I would be putting something back and when I return to where my parents were when I left to put it back and they've walked away to some other spot. I still have that problem...though now I can usually keep from crying, at least to a point that it just looks like my eyes are watering... :( But, when I was left home alone for 3 days while my parents went somewhere, I was mostly fine.

I honestly don't know what "impulses" you're refering to, so I cannot answer that question.

I'm not sure why I fear being alone...when I got so lonely that I became extremely depressed, I had just lost my first girlfriend(the one I had before the one I have now) to some college boy. :( If it weren't for my current girlfriend, I'd probably still be extremely depressed and suicidal... :(

I think theres your answer. Your afraid of being left behind and no one coming to get you. The feeling alone and by yourself is just part of that, but it's more of the whole people forgetting about you, I think.

I also think it's good that you've found the SYM crew here. Essentially, someone is always here and always be here to talk to. You may not form strong social ties with all of us, but at the very least, the weak social ties you have with some people should be enough to allay the feelings of alone or being forgotten about.

Your girlfriend is perhaps your strongest social tie which can be both bad and good. If you get too attached and something bad happens (not that I'm saying that it will, I'm just saying that in this world, theres always possibility) then you might get depressed again. It's always good to have some friends who you know will always be there for you. Whether you consider us to be them or some people that you know face to face, and your family as well, it's just nice to have those people around, make you feel part of the group and not left out.

Just remember Sailor Saturn, that you'll never be forgotten here with us, hell, I still remember all the members that I've spammed with :)

I must say that I definitely feel better now. Despite your cheesy pickup lines and bad jokes, you actually have the capability for intelligence and you definitely are capable of being kind, encouraging, and sweet. ;) *hug* :)

That's because it's the nice quiet guys who are usually serial killers! :) Haven't you watched 'Silence of the Lambs'? The killer spent most of his time in his house not talking to anyone...dressing up in woman's clothing...playing with his dog... Sound familiar? ;)

Died of cancer.

Thanks for the concern Viv. Happened a while back, couldn't bring ourselves to replace her though.

It seems like we should have a dog (being that i live in the country) but replacing her just seems wrong somehow, i agree with you Rob-hin definately part of the family.

Poor guys. :( I'm sure your dogs are in dog heaven running and sniffing everything in sight!

P.S. *gets an devious glint in her eyes* You could get a cat! They are twice as good at cuddling and don't smell :) Plus, when they disobey, you know it's out of love.
