that's a tough one, but i'm fairly sure it's because Hussein is like Hitler, and Iraq possesses nuclear, chemical and biological warfare capabilities.

Short answer: he can't. But both Rumsfeld and Cheney have been doing so. And when asked for proof that Iraq had nuclear weapons, Cheney said that the proof lay in the fact, and I quote that "Hussein was another Hitler, and had nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons." The Washington Post quoted him in a feature article, and claimed it represented an effort by the US government to "open up" and present "more proof."

This was not supposed to compare a mediocre middle east dictator to the man who destroyed the world as people knew it. You may compare Stalin to Hitler but not Hussein. Nevertheless the new world order has to be implemented with a hard hand ...
