@Sleep - this was the phrase that I was objecting to in particular. I hope that noone on SYM has a site that is illegal which they have made, but I don't really care as long as they keep it to themselves. Anyone posting an advert for their (legal in the general, not forum-specific sense) site would never be banned from GB would they???

As Sleepy said, check the SYM specifics - it is a sticky thread, as is the discussion about the rules.

Ever since the inception of the rules and SYM most of the spam in the gaming threads has become minimal, i can only remember posting 3 spammy comments in any of them over the last 6 months.

Can everyone stay level headed, there is no reason for this thread to decend into an argumentative thread...although i do think all the questions have been answered.

You are allowed a link to your site in your signature, that is as far as the advertising is allowed.

I can not comment on specifics of that nature, that would be based on the individual situation, links like Baldurdash, TDD, Platter's planescape site (can't recall specifics) are fine since they deal with specific game related subjects. As for self opinions and other media, i guess that would have to be decided on a link to link basis, to make a categorical statement that is my own personal opinion would be unfair to Buck and the other mods.

If there is a general consensous of concern with this rule we might be able to come up with some kind of more specific explanation, this would however take time.

As Yshania said advertising for other things is shunned.

Aegis! Is that a new avatar? I like it. I can't make out what it is, and it looks like many things--which is probably one reason I like it. :)

Look frogus, I'm really starting to get worried now - I think this "evil twin" thing is starting to get out of hand. Do we perhaps have a psychic connection?

LMAO @ the whole thing...

Hey Fable! Why don't you check the IPs of these "two" amphibian fools?

And could you perhaps do a CT scan too while you're at it...

How many times do I have to say it, a chameleon isn't an amphibian...*sigh* Some people never learn.
