Didn't get flourish from there. :p

I get fed up of fighting Raymondo. You fight him, make him surrender, take his quality ship and then he's back out again immediately. Does the pirate you control ever think to kill him and save so much trouble? :p

Latest one, I've found all the relatives, taken the pirate treasure, found 2 lost cities, and gained over 100,000 gold. So, pretty good. :D
Though I haven't attacked any towns yet and I'm still on the lowest difficulty.
I started on level "2" with my last one defeted all 9, got the family, got a puuurty wife  .....and tried to attack a town...first time I got my ass handed to me....but then I got the hand of it...
I hate the fact of having to divide the plunder..I finally get a couple really good ships & such, then they get all pissy....damn pirates...

The very first battle you can't lose, so get a really good ship then. :D

Now I just use chain shot to shred sails and then all the enemies surrender (apart from Montalban  ).

Then I just get 2 fully upgraded ships and a really small crew (less than 100).

If you go after Montalban's hideout you face a land battle, so I suppose I've got that left to do :p

Just make sure you're flagship is the best, that won't get taken off you.

Yeah, I've been there...there are well over 100 Indians to deal with....it's a whole lotta no fun.... :( ...oops, should I have not told you that?

Yeah, I have done that (flagship)....but, it still bug me that i keep the crew happy, then they are just not....even if they do win a battle...i dunno....plus, i wish I could play a female pirate......

If you start at level 2 or 3 difficulty, and have it start at the very beginning year wise....it can prove to be a bit more difficult....

Well, I'm at 100 fame (or v. close) so I might just retire or something. :p

The game doesn't seem that replayable though. Just back to fighting the same people, dealing with the oddities (why would a locked-up relative have a map to a legendary lost city?  ) and the same cities run by the same countries in the exact same locations :o .

I suppose even pirates get fed up of the sea and danger eventually. Who wants to be in the way of Grape Shot on a monthly basis? :p ;)
Would be nice to change the appearance of the pirate, at least the patch adds some new music and stuff :)
...oops, should I have not told you that?

Don't worry about it, I bought a strategy guide, so I know about the battle :p

I can't think of anything else to write about Pirates, so everyone's safe to come back now... :D

Hi wats. :)

I played Civ1. And Civ2 and 3. :p
Dad bought me Colonization when I was young. Said if I played that I'd be better at Civ1. Yeah, right.

Haven't played Pirates Gold. The new one is 3D, so I expect it's quite different :D

I think...good timing from wats! :D

Civilization 2: Test of Time is good. Just difficult to get it working under Windows XP. It has a Midgard Scenario, a sci-fi and extended original game (you travel to Alpha Centauri and meet an alien race and carry on for a while).

I found some better pictures to edit for my avatar. With the same dragon on. I just have to edit those too, the only probblem is all the detail lost when you scale them down far enough to be used as an avatar :(

More music Juni? :p

i liked colonization, even now i occasionally dust it down and waste a few hours completing ;) Only thing is i always seem 2 revert to cheat mode... *jus cant stick it out*
I loved Civ1 (to be honest it introduced me 2 the world of computor gaming) could never get get in2 civ2, the aforementioned cheat mode put me off, cheatings no fun, but i never seem able 2 resist! :D :D
I played it on PS tho, no cheat mode on that!

It was on PS? Tsk, that probably ruins it.

There'ss also an Alpha Centauri game, but I don't think it's made any more. It was good. I used to have the expansion under the CD blew up in my old DVD drive :( .

I was never that good at Colonization, always trying to find the balance between number of cities and soldiers guarding them (before I end up surrounded by Spanish dragoons  ). Always happens :p
Doesn't work too well with Windows XP though, you have to crank up it's allocated memory, otherwise it either doesn't run or crashes after 5 mins. As if getting the sound and music to work wasn't bad enough.

Ah, the days when you could get games on 2 floppy disks. Great :D

In Colonization you control the English, French, Dutch or Spanish, go the 'new world' build some towns made up of individuals trained in different skills. You trade with the European country you started off with and eventually buid up resistance to them and fight off their army to win independence.

Civilization is the bigger version of that really, spread over a longer time.

Uh...I'm not boring anyone am I? :p

@Juni, tsk, you missed a monumental time for turn based strategy.... (well maybe not, but it was fun!) ;)

I tried 2 avoid war with other europians, my strategy (the one that worked)

I never liked attacking the indians- my downfall :p
And the other Europeans always attack you if they think you're weak. The sneak attacks are worst.

Talk to you later wats :)
