Set both timers going. When the sand in the four minute timer runs out, you know you have three minutes left in the other timer. Turn both over again, and when the three minutes of sand in the seven minute timer runs out, you know you have one minute of sand left in the four minute timer. Turn both timers over again, and when the one minute has run out of the four minute timer you know there has been one minute on the seven minute timer too - turn the seven minute timer back over, and you have a total of 9 minutes.

4 + 3 + 1 + 1

Looks right to me. :)

Sue is traveling by ship from south of the equator to the north.
She has a nice little cabin with a bathroom, but no window.
Sue has no compass nor other instruments. Just the general luggage one brings on board a long cruise. Yet, without leaving her room or talking with anyone, Sue will be able to
tell when the ship has crossed the equator. How?

This has to do with myth, I believe- Sue can tell when the toilet water flows in a different direction. Unfortunately, this has been proven untrue. :p

That was such a good myth. :p
Correct.

Did you know that if you live within 5 miles of a cemetary you can't be buried there?
Why?

Hmm. May have posted one like this before. Oops. The not dead answer is correct.

Don't think I posted this one at least. :p

I can be cool, but I can't be cold,
I can be sorry, but I can't be guilty,
I can be spooked, but I can't be scared,
I can be sweet, but I can't be friendly,
I can be flammable, but I can't burn.
What am I?

A second 'riddle', before I forget it:

You have an old record player, sandpaper, petrol (gas, for you Americans :p ) and an old caravan that is awaiting demolition. What's the best way to destroy it, with only the listed materials?

BTW, don't try this at home...

This isnt really a riddle, but I think its probably something like--> set up the CD player, and use the snadpaper to the get a spark, which will travel down the headphones till it reaches the wonderful inside of a partly full gas tanks. :D
Ill probably look at this later and go "wow, how stupid am I?"

That's a nice answer, but it's a bit simpler than that. And it's one of those old vinyl record players.

It's not really a riddle, but I saw it on a programme and it sounded good. One of the few things Health & Safety haven't covered, apparently. But I'm not the type to go around annihilating caravans or other stuff. So they're still safe. :)

Nice DJV. Your probably right.

Im gonna repost an older one...since no one answered it.

On a trip, a man was ingured by a falling spar. He was taken to the Doctors office. He was delusional. The doctor needed to know where he was injured, but all he says is "Cut a quarter of a boat, and youll learn where Im hurt".

Where is he injured?

This is my own creation, and no one has got it. I will be proud of anyone who figures it out. :D

I'm thinking about the one, first of all, I'll start literal.

A quater of boat...get rid of one of the letters: oat, bat, tab, bot, boa

Now, unfortuntately, to my knowledge none of the aforementioned words are body parts (though I could be wrong  ) so I'll leave it at that for the moment....

I'll be back
