You would feel inadequate too if you were under a
constant barrage of illogical, idiosyncratic behavior that defies reason and understanding! Case in point:
“What do you want for dinner tonight?” I say.
“Oh, I don’t know,” she says.
“Do you want to go out?”
“I suppose.”
“Where would you like to go?”
“I don’t care. You decide.”
“How about Caruso’s?”
“No, anything but Italian.”
“Okay, then let’s got to the Dragon’s View.”
“I don’t feel like Chinese tonight.”
“What
DO you feel like?”
“Oh, anything is fine with me. You decide.”
“Let’s go to Daisy Mae’s Steak House.”
“Oh, all that beef isn’t good for us.”
“Do you have any kind of feeling,
whatsoever, about what you
would like to eat?”
“No, you pick something. I don’t really have a preference.”
“Bisonwiches? I know you like their soups.”
“Its too hot for soup.”
“You could get a sandwich.”
“But you can’t go to Bisonwiches and not get soup.”
“We could just go out and grab a burger?”
“No......”
A hour later, I’m making Ramen at the stove.
