Come on guys, I just don't get it, the man got himself banned for saying he has something which is against the law to have - he hasn't done anything that may cause problems to the website such as asking another member to send him a crack , a cd-image of his missing/problematic cd nor posted a link to a site /w an illegal content.
I have been banned from 2 forums, once for posting a url of an illegal site on a legal forum. The second time on an illegal massageboard... the admin banned one of his loyal moderators (me) for flaming him. I'm telling you my boring story only because it's similar to Wraithlord's case, IMO his sin was insulting the Admin, breaking the unwritten golden rule.

I'm asking you a simple question: why Wraithlord was banned on sight while members who post advertisements of their sites, spam and flame are still here? - please correct me if they are also banned immediately when detected.

Generally people who discuss illegal activities are banned, there is a fine line between actually illegal and perceptively illegal. We have discussed software like KaAzA in the past, they are currently under investigation for possible infringments ergo could become illegal. No one was banned for that incident.

It is illegal to breach copyright, there are strict piracy laws all around the world.

HLD has it right when he says that illegal conversations on this website could cause legal problems for Buck. Plus it would tarnish the reputation that GameBanshee generally holds.

It is a matter of consistency, if one was to let comments like that pass someone would say "Where did you get that" and then a link would be posted and then probably two or more members would be banned, if one stops the conversation before it leads to anything further, then less damage is done.

Well, AFAIK spamming(thank God/Satan ), flaming(to some extent) and posting up sites outside GB are not even close to illegal here, so what's the point of banning people who do that?

Unwritten? Didn't you read the forum rules then? And I don't think Buck would ban you for flaming him, at least not for saying the kind of things you're saying here. He broke a written rule. He was banned. There aren't that many things you can do to get Baassied, and don't compare us here to other forums 'cos in my experience we're not like them. This is the best forum I've ever seen, and noone else comes close.

If I've got the wrong end of the stick here with interpreting your post, please say and accept my apologies, but I'm not sure that you're being fair to Buck at all.

So saying I have done anything illegal will result banning. Sorry for misunderstanding the WRITTEN rule.

huh? show me a seasoned GB member who hasn't spammed, posted up any site outside GB, or flamed (even in a joking way) please.

It depends greatly on the specifics of every situation, if one was to post a link to a "White Supremicist" site, or something generally offensive, then one is very likely to lose posting privalages, also check out the SYM specific rules, there is some clarification to be found there.
