i was google searching banshee for a history paper on ireland and this came up. after i figured out that it had nothing to do with actual banshees, i started snooping around the forums. i discovered that it was an RPG gamer site, i figured that it must have KOTOR I & II. since then its been one of the sites i haunt. but hey, i got an A on my report. lol
Well, that has to be possibly the winner of the "most improbable entrance" award :p

Me, I was a Dungeon refugee who came here after that place closed down and I lost the bookmarks to another forum I was using as a substitute. I don't know exactly what happened after that, but somehow, I think I was taken in kinda like a stray puppy. :o

Eureka! I found it!

... in the same way as Ravager and C Elegans: looking for a walkthrough on Baldur's Gate, mostly on the NPC's. It took me a few months to stumble to the vast jungle where everyone speaks his mind. And I'm still stuck.

Please someone throw a five or an eight! I want to leave Jumanji! LEAVE!!

I think I was trying to find some walktrough info about several games and in here the interface seemed most practical. Also here is info about most of the games I'm interested in.

I was a regular visitor from another website that also dealt with RPG's like Baldur's Gate 2.

It took me awhile though to visit SYM.

Joined for the KOTOR forums and left soon afterwards.
Found it again independently, for Oblivion and was surprised that I was already registered and my password saved in Firefox. I did not really explore other parts of the site until I PMed Fable with a question and he sent me to look at other subforums.

I was recruited by arno_v. He's gone to infrequent lurking status. I'm haunting this place like the ghost ship it is. And that's the entire story, kids. [even creepier]Good night[/even creepier]
@DN,
Anomen ended up being inspiring, though not exactly in the way the game developers intended
:D ;)

What I do remember is that when I joined, almost the entire GB population of the time had arrived because of BG2
I came for the appetizers, but stayed for the desert. :D

I was drawn to GB like an under-sexed moth to a Dark Flame. :mischief:

Or maybe I was searching for help in BG2 like so many others. Really, I am still impressed by how that one game spawned such a huge community. No game since has had the same appeal, and I doubt very much that cosmic alignments will allow another such game anytime soon. Still, I searched and lurked for a long time before being inspired to post. The GB forums also inspired me to play BG2 in several different ways, as well as other games. Really, game developers should be giving Buck royalties. :)
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

I just needed some followers to worship me, so I created the guise of looking for information on Morrowind. Then I "pretended" to be enlightened to the way of high post counts (Spam). Developed my unhealthy fear of Xandax, met Hill1, tried to kill him when he turned to the dark side and became Darth Shatar (In an eerily similar way to SW Episode III) and went to hide in a small corner of the galaxy, until one day, I will return in full. :D
I think we might have had threads like this before, but I can't think of a good key word to put in the search engine :o Anyway, new peoples here and all, so it doesn't matter :D

I came here looking for information on BG2, specifically on that wannabee paladin Anomen :o
Muah ha - 'twas Jaheira and her intricate ballet of...ok, insert your own *'hem* here, that brought me to GB, although it took me two years to click on that little "SYM" button, and fall into Sytze's and Lu's trap.

Gwal - if by desert, you mean periodic floggings, you're a genius.
I sincerely wish we could re-consider this plan from a perspective that involved pants.

Dear me. I wished I should've joined the very first day that I came searching for the Fable walkthrough last October. :( Oh well. Better late than never. ;)

Don't need to be afraid of me. I joined the forums 3 months later than you. ;)

P.S. Wow, I didn't know that Baldur's Gate is that popular in this forum (saw quite a number of people viewing it) and also the main reason a lot of people joined GameBanshee.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
