Perhaps everybody that really would want to be a moderator could PM Buck and he could create a poll?

My 2 cents: IMHO both Xan and DW are very able... but are they willing?

For diversity's sake I'd like to nominate two more people whom I've percieved to be level headed and likely to do a good job moderating the forums: Sojourner and VonDondu.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

I get plenty of drugs offered via the 200+ spam emails I download from my GB email account each day, so I think I'd be set for life if need be :D

Anyone brave enough to make that statement get my vote!

Thanks, Vicsun, for your confidence. I wasn't expecting it, and I am honored. (Although I do have mixed feelings about becoming a candidate "for diversity's sake".) :) However, I would prefer not to be a Moderator. The truth is, I wouldn't be very good at enforcing rules. In fact, I'm not very good at following them sometimes. :) I like to think that I can get away with dancing around them sometimes, and that should tell you where my heart lies. Thank you, anyway.

And now, a message to the candidates out there. At this point, I'd rather abstain from voting because I can't bring myself to wish the job of Moderator on anyone. That is, unless someone really WANTS the job. Well, if you want it, why don't you prove it to me. Send me a private message asking for my vote and I'll be glad to give it to you. This is a serious offer, and you don't have to feel embarrassed about asking for someone's vote. And don't worry--I'll never tell. :)

*promptly loses level-headedness* I got a nomination! :D Thanks for the plug, but I wouldn't be a good candidate, since I tend to disappear from the boards now and then.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
