Indeed, Hill. There is both Summer and Winter Olympics, neither one holding the monopoly on simply being called 'The Olympics', as both are, but just different sets of games due to the season in which they are held.
Random Facts
I know, I know, but many people here refer to it as The Olympics. Period. Geez.

Thank you. I would kiss you, if not for my engagement.
It is most likely something to do with the British, although many consider the Winter Plympics a spinoff due to the original events, none of which are practiced any more, or at least in any similar way, all of which were summer activities. If you call beating someone to death in boxing bare handed a typical summer activity.

The Winter event involves lots of snow-based events and is held in a different country to the one holding the Summer event I believe.
Somehow, I doubt London could cope with the influx of people wanting to watch the Olympics twice in one year.
All the transport would probably come to a grinding halt...the transport I use.

That's the only reason?!

Any man who tries to seduce an unmarried girl in the US state of Michigan risks 5 years in jail. In the same state a woman is not allowed to cut her hair without her husband's consent and it is against the law for parents to swear in front of children. There is also a ten cent bounty for each crow killed in any city of the state.
When I saw those, I kept the paper specially, so I could post them...
And some random Spanish, as I always like this phrase,
'Loco como un zorro' - Crazy like a fox.
(Is that a Spanish cliche?)

You can't see the Great Wall of China from space.
It is said that the bodies of those who died contructing said wall were buried inside it.
No one knows the amount of towers in the Wall, or how long it really is, or the point of having walls in some places.
I remember seeing something on a Great Wall of China documentary on today and it reminded me of all those facts.
The Olympics are every four years. 2012 is in London. I'm not sure where the 2008 one is.
Surely the 2012 is the only Olympics in the world... ever?
Or is it just the British press who never talk about anything else?
@Rav You should never, ever, believe anything you read in the Metro!
Now, what is that old chestnut about being allowed to shoot a Welshman in the cathedral close in Chester on a Sunday with a bow and arrow?

You'd think. At least it's an excuse for London/the government to improve transport in the area.

It's a free paper, that I can read instead of my book, of course I'm going to read it. Besides, I like the comics.
