Well the cat just got a tooth removed, and the doctor recommended not eating, swallowing anything hard, so...

ok..well..this is incredibly out of date, but...anyway.
aegis is technically 'eh-g
(soft)iss' - from latin, for shield, as spammybrother (tyb) said. as in ars magica's "aegis of the hearth". another good example of the pronunciation is "faerie."
i couldn't quite tell if "E gis" is the same as what i'm saying, so don't mind me if i'm just repeating....
