Well, I'n not beholden to my post count....in fact I am somewhat ambarressed that it is approaching 3000    ...... However, historian that I am, I cringe at the thought of deleting so important a testimonial to SYM spamming activities..... :D I mean, whom knows.....this thread could become a significant and elucidating document at some date in the future..... :p

I just hope I didn't illuminate any earth shaking theories in that thread. I would hate for my wisdom to be lost to the ages. :D

To be honest, I cannot be bothered. The other long threads had to be closed/deleted due to the stress they caused to the server and traffic to/from GB. You cannot believe how bad connections were at one point. (Took more than 5 minutes to load single page!) It improved since Buck upgraded and changed server and program (I'm not sure what exactly).

To me, "which is the longest thread" is irrelevant: it's different time and different contents. Many thinks Goody was pure spam, and it had spam in it. But it was first and foremost, a serious discussion thread. It was sad it's been deleted, because it contained really good (and heated) debate with posts from Maurice and even Buck (it is also a shame Buck no longer participate in discussions, though I fully understand his position to decide not to). It was the time we could have heated discussion without being offensive/ridicule each other and had fun at the same time; I don't think we will see a thread like that again, especially with that length. The Dark Flame thread would be the longest story thread, alongside with Role playing in Athkatla, had they both not been closed and re-openned. Pub thread? The Five Flaggons would be still around with hundreds of pages, as it had to be closed too, and so were its dozens of successors.

(Minerva with serious post)

@Dottie & co: I don't think deleting threads would affect on your post account. If it does, my post count should be less than half, as Buck deleted a bunch of threads when I was most actively posting in GB forums. ;)

Ahhh...the joys of Evil!

@Ysh: Personally I believe that you may have hit upon the motherlode of evil here...*chortles wickedly*...after all, real evil is subtle, playing upon fears deeply rooted in the mind, summoning waves of debilitating terror within each victim... :D

You have almost every angle covered here - the spectre of post count loss looming before certain giants of SYM, their Spamming milestones now in dire peril....

The threat of revealing the identities of those individuals who would see these giants of spam delivered a devastating blow by the deletion of the entire thread...

Yes, you are toying with these things as a cat might play with a mouse. I approve! Kudos! :D

Are you sure? Is it possible that just deleting your thread will lower someone else's post count? Did Frogus delete hi thread the other day? If he did, I didn't notice my post count getting any lower.

Wouldn't it be something if Ysh only succeeded in lowering her own post count? :p :D

If she is serious, she could at least attempt to obtain a ransom from some members.

The possibilities are intriguing. :D

Seriously, though, when Buck pruned the SYM, my post count didn't change. And most of my posts are in those deleted threads... Do you think delete them by Admin/mods or by the original poster would be the difference?

@Minerva, I really don't understand it myself.....but I do believe it might just be the person who started the thread that loses the post count numbers.

Right now I'm looking for an old thread to delete and this time I will check the other people in the thread post count before and afterwards.

What thread is it? Is that going to be an unsolved mystery forever, Weasel?

Hmmm, I really don't understand... It could be due to the different server (or program). Buck changed Bulletin thing since, didn't he?

Ah the Bulletin Board.... :) I believe you might have the cause. I'm sure my post count didn't fall with the purge...so I would say it was the other board.
