LMAO.....erm....In my experience the black leather looks better when the snug jeans are covering the boxers..... well on more public occasions anyways.....

More seriously, I also find it odd how the cult of bagginess has apparently taken over in North America. Admittedly, jeans that are so tight the person appears to have been poured into them is IMO both uncomfortable and unhealthy...... Snug jeans, however, both look better and feel better than baggy ones. Personally I hate the feeling of trailing all kinds of excess material around with me, and as others have pointed out there is nothing wrong in embracing (excuse the pun

) one's sexuality....or somebody else's....

Yes, and I'm just speculating. But I think it holds true, just a bit, at least. I mean, how many people buy and wear the ugliest, least shapely fashions only to be part of the larger clique in their teens, when a self-identity crisis hits one and all? Can't say I blame 'em, but I think it might still be a factor, at least, for some.

I know what you mean, here in Kentucky, we have schoolkids who dress, act like, and talk like little gangsta wannabes. For the life of me, I don't see how they can convince themselves that this is the hood. The whole thing is actually quite funny.

That its a factor for some (alot) I cant argue with. I do however as it happens like non shapely clothing.

The more exessive material thats flying around the better. Im just claiming that tastes can differ here, and I dont see myself as very concerned about following fashion atm...

For you, it's a lifestyle choice. But I don't think you're average, do you, @Dottie?

You buy because you like the clothes; the average teen buys them to fit in. I think the proof of that concerning all this shapeless clothing is that when most of 'em leave school and move on, beginning to make their own decisions, the wardrobe is the first to go. There are and always will be exceptions, but I've seen very few folks in their twenties who try to keep the gangsta look Bloodstalker notes.

I, like Fable, am somewhat mystified by this fashion trend. I am happy that here in the Desert Southwest, the trend only really extends to women’s pants, while women still appear to prefer tight-cropped tops. Half a good thing is better than none, I guess. Still, the overall look makes me wonder. I note a growing trend for the young ladies to wear their baggy jeans riding low on the hips, while their thong underwear rides high in back, thus displaying to the world that the fact that the are wearing a thong. When I see this, I get a little thrill, but almost immediately the thrill is diminished by thoughts of being able to pull the “ultimate wedgie”. Good thing I’m not evil….

I have never understood the trend in men’s shorts (not underwear). Growing up, cut-offs or shorts with a 3” inseam (or less) were accepted. But in the 80s, ‘Jams’ appeared, those big multi-colored shorts that came down to the knee (or below). Ug. What could anyone see in those? It was impossible, and still is, to find a pair of shorts that aren’t impossibly long! Everyone wants to ‘be like Mike’ or so it seems. Sure, Mike Jordan can pull that off because his legs come up to my shoulders, but on stockier guys like me, its just dumb.

I am happy to report that I have started wearing more boxers, since they are actually making some that offer a modicum of support. You’ll never catch me in a Bikini, though, @DW.

On women, I find most underwear quite attractive (except for the more ‘matronly’ looks), though I think it takes a particular body-type to make thongs look good (i.e. many 14-year-old girls can pull this off, and that’s just gross

Well hell, I dress more like a girl than half the girls I know nowadays...and yes, that is because I'm a ponce, but also because the current rolemodels to young kids (Limp Bizkit etc) are men...the baggily-apparelled kids that we're talking about are, I assume, the kids who listen to Nu Metal...and how many female nu-metallers have you heard of? So the girls that are into the bloke out of Papa Roach just have no choice but to dress like a man, in order to (as Fable says) fit in....

The merge of styles (Gothic and hiphop) is one of the most unfortunate there is...although either can look good when done well on their own.

All that being said, big trousers can still be attractive on a girl if [interior_designer_voice] Used as part of an elegant ensemble [interior_designer_voice/off]...When all the clothes are too big you have a problem...

I find the goth look, if pulled off well very attractive. Assuming they have a short skirt. That helps.

Ahem. Anyways, I'm gonna have to go with the summer dress. About mid thigh height and made of something light.
Personnaly, I am not a big fan of the tight pant/shirt trend. If it's going to be skin tight, why can't it be skin? Thats my question. In shirts its ok. On pants, Go for a short skirt. Looks much better.
Hair, also is a kicker imo. Short hair I really like, especially when the tips are died. ie) blond with black tips, or black with red ends I think looks really good.

The most important thing for me though, is that whatever they wear it is distinctive and different. I can't stand the current "trendy looks".
Anything but ordanary plz. Also, a person sense of style says a lot about them . Confident, shy, athletic, etc.

I hope Fable excuse me for discussing what clothes I don't find sexy: I think most types of shorts, but especially the long baggy ones you describe, are not very attrative on men. A tighter type, like cut of jeans or of course speedos if you are biking, looks much better IMO

Ah, I don't think you need to have any special body type to wear thongs, you just need to find the right type for your body. I use the totally plain, sort of sporty type with very high and thin cut. Very comfortable if you have a slimmer body type. A bigger woman with wide hips and a large behind may look better in thongs with a farily large triangle in the Y-shape of the back side adn perhaps a rim of lace on the front. IMO it certainly looks better than the bikini type underwear which can accentuate the hip and behind parts and make them look even bigger.

This I was hoping for someone else to say...

Since people brought up the subject of what cloths are not that attractive... I have to say - Dresses. In general I find any type of this rather boring, and it get worse if they have some kind of flowery design.
