I think another issue we have to consider in Buck banning Wraithlord is GameBanshee's liability in the event that someone perceives that Buck is facilitating software piracy and decides to get a cease-and-desist order against this website. Napster was shut down because a judge decided that they weren't doing enough to stop the illegitimate use of peer-to-peer file sharing technology.
I happen to own a retail copy of BG2 and several other games. I have burned copies of several game CDs at work and in with my laptop (for travel) so I can play BG2, IWD, etc. at work or on the road and not have to shuttle them back and forth from home to work. It is my understanding that under American copyright laws this is legal. I have used a couple of no-CD patches in the past, but after several did not work, I just decided it was better to make copies to save myself the headache. Still, I have legal copies in the event that anyone ever asks.
It was my understanding at the beginning of Wraithlord's post that he had his own copy of BG2 and something happened to his game CD, which I why I suggested he go get a no-CD patch. I think Buck was right to ban Wraithlord for violating the forum rules, and especially if he has liability concerns for his website.

Guys, guys, the conversation is degenerating
To see a discussion as serious as piracy turning into a love-fest is a sight to behold.

That's okay, no one else here wants to do my job (no one else here even knows how to do my job), so I don't see myself getting fired for playing BG2 (or goofing off at SYM) on company time as long as my overall productivity doesn't suffer. Plus, I'm the only one who can get the copier to work.

Speaking of which, is it possible that topics are moved here with the intent of trapping unsuspecting members who follow the topic into the web of SYM? I fear I may have stumbled upon something here.

@Mr Sleep: But you probably don't want to do my job . . . you'd have to move over here and become a yank, too.

I see, all having fun with the italian chicken, uh?
Tsk! Tsk! Perire il pensiero! Siete pollo! Siete abbastanza brave (?) parlare in su, quello certamente contate per qualcosa in miei libri
Translation: Tsk! Tsk! Perish the thought! You are no chicken! You are brave enough to speak up, that surely counts for something in my books
Damn, I've spent too much time here today....
Al contrario, dovreste passare più tempo qui.
