Wow Beldin, mentioning the epyx summer games series. we used to obsessed with that. A bunch of us would play summer games, summer games 2, winter games, and then world games in succession and keep track of all of medals from game to game to have a four game champion in an evening. It was so fun. Platform diving and pole vault were so amazing. The javelin event had a max throw and it was easy to hit. we'd always tie for gold in that.
I also remember once the pole vault got to a certain height, the only way to clear it, was to go under the crossbar (must've been a bug)
guess these games should go on my top five as well.
and the zelda series (nice aegis). tell me though, since you're a young pup, have you actually played the original 8 bit nintendo system legenda of zelda.

Since the LoZ games keep getting mentioned, I've got to say this. Those are some of my favorite games ever.
From best to worst(IMO):
1.)Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
2.)Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
3.)Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
4.)the first Legend of Zelda
5.)Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
6.)Legend of Zelda II
Anyone know the name of the one for GCN?

Bets games I have ever played??
1 BG series......hey, I am here ain't i?
2 Civ......many many hours....many many conquests.
3 Final Fantasy series, though I prefer the older style games.
4. Metal gear series.....actually realistic in the sense that you can't just storm the gates guns blazing.
and I really, REALLY liked Metroid....God I feel old.
BTW, Football Pro series was the best ever, until that last peice of crap they put out that killed the franchise.

Erm, not really. Rather: which games you've spent most time playing. That's not the same thing. Not necessarily.

Picky picky...
Same list anyway, the best games are the ones I spend hours playing while the others sit unused on my shelf.

@SS,
did you really like majora's mask that much. I found it a huge hassle that the clock kept resetting and you would always be waiting around for a certain time on a certain to get something day. you didn't venture too far because you might miss the appropriated time slot and then have to go back to day 1 all over again. Perhaps I was a little impatient, perhaps I should try again.
true, link to the past was the best but I'd follow with the ocarina of time, not MM, but I never did get very far into it.

I enjoyed Majora's Mask because it had a good mix of adventure and puzzle. With a little practice, you can get rather good at manipulating time to minimize waiting periods, but you do have to be careful or you will have to jump back to day 1, but it's worth it, imo. Another helpful thing is to figure out how long it takes to get from one place to another. That helps make it easier to run off and do something else without missing what you're waiting for. The owls statues that let you teleport from one place to another also help with moving from place to place quickly.
OoT is fun, but I still haven't managed to complete it. I'm stuck at the very last battle. It's fun, but it lacks many of the cool aspects of MM. Also, in MM, being young Link gives you some good angles when looking at some of the girls.
Another game that has Link in it that I really like is Super Smash Bros. Melee. I can beat almost anyone with Young Link. The only person who's beat me is a 12-year-old.

That was why I quit going to the arcades....I would be kicking butt in Tekken or some simnilar game, some 10 year old would come up, pop a quarter in, and take me to the cleaners.....I got tired of bodyslamming the kids, so I quit going.

Since GB is basically a RPG forum I'm sincerely surprised that nobody here has mentioned "Lands Of Lore " (Parts 1,2 and 3) so far...
Isn't LoL considered a Fantasy RPG ?
No worries,
Beldin
BTW - I liked playing part 2 and 3 but not enough for my "Best 5 " list...

I have not played it Beldin, though I have been trying to find it locally. unfortunately, there just is not a wide range of choices in this little town.
I know this is gonna date me severely, but one game I spent ages playing was Raiders of the Lost Ark for my Atari 2600. I still remember that system and games like Beserk, Breakout, and Defender.....still miss those games on occasion.

I couldn't get either of the first two to work on my computer. I tried again when I bought a new computer and still no luck.

I used to play Atari at my cousin's house when I was about 3- to 4-years-old. I don't remember what games we played on it, though.
