@Ysh, i just naturally remember mundane things like names of directors etc. i am a sponge like that, sometimes i wish that i oculd devote my mind to intellectual pursuits, but i usually end up watching some film and remembering every actors name etc.

Hehe! I am a sponge for trivia too, but not that kind of 'trivia'. That kind of trivia is much too important for my fragment drive to store effectively

@Yshania I listen to radio for the music, that's why I avoid advert-ridden commercial radio

Capital is the worst. They play a selection of about ten songs, interrupted by way too many adds, and even the DJs cannot lift it...

The only other stations apart from XFM I really listen to is Virgin (they play some older stuff - not just chart stuff) and Capital Gold or Radio 5 for the football coverage

Of those two I prefer Capital Gold just for Jonathon Pearce...the only problem is I support a northern team and if they are not playing a London team I cannot get the commentary...

i love transformers...i think that today's kids would be better off if they had watched it.
i seriously have soem theories about transformers, and how society has turned out.
transformers was the last cartoon/children's show that had actual an actual leader. after transformers, political correctness took over and suddenly it was bad to portray leaders because it "made kids feel bad if they weren't leaders". everykids show started to focus on a team and everyone being equal, and how one person is not better at something than the next. and actually, leadership was villainized, only the bad guys had a definite leader.
so, kids grew up thinking that they are as good as everyone else and became increasingly frustrated with the world because it wasn't how they were told it was growing up. that there are in fact leaders and followers in the world, and even though there is nothign wrong with that, kids became angry, and...voila....school violence and the like begins to happen

Everyone knows how it works, you have to fight your way to top with force and violence, else you'll be an outcast...

That is a very indepth analysis of transformers, also very interesting. Since Childhood is one of the most important times of your life when you begin to learn things, it is only natural that your main influence in these times would be cartoons.

Transformers, was and is still the best (childrens) cartoon i can think of, there is the hero and the villian, they had interesting characters, there was definite character development, look at the role of optimus prime (i picked that one out

), the perfect leader.

It also managed to have the Good over Evil apex, which makes everyone so happy

Bah, it doesn't work that way, if you want something in real life, you've gotta steal it away from someone too weak to defend it...

And what would be the problem with being and outcast, it is better than resorting to unnecessary violence. (IMO) Fighting your way to the top is not the only way.

I think it's probably going a little far to blame that on the demise of Transformers

my theory is not so much as to blame it on the disappearance of transformers,but rather it is a sign of what was sweeping the country in the late 80's.
when they stopped keepign score at little league games and such.
by the time i got in high school, the only goal was to bring the entire school down to one level so that the dumber kids would feel better. they scrapped almost every honors and talented and gifted program they had. the parents complained and they were brought back, but it still shows just how bad things can get.
very young children's shows switched from educational to lessons in sharing and hugging and learning that everyone is the same and special.
and i stated my cartoon theory already.
