Order of the Dark Flame (Story, No Spam)
Loner had only gone a short distance away from the camp before she headed back. On her way she passed Darkpoet, going in the opposite direction.
When she got back to the tent, she saw Kramor, yet again turned to stone. She sighed deeply and began rummaging through her things. "This is getting old," she muttered...
She found the scroll she was looking for and used it, returning Kramor back to normal.

(ooc: DP: Why would Waverly care to find Gwalchmai?)
Waverly saw the stricken Thantor lying on the ground, and couldn't help but think "Viv, you ditz!"
Feeling that his grip on his form and this plane was slipping with the recent excitement, Waverly grabbed Thantor by the throat, and through his hands drained a portion of his Thantors life energy to sustain him. While Thantor barely clung to life, Waverly went off to fetch a drink, thinking that one of these metaphysical nimrods was going to 'sense' Thantors life force in his aura. He cared not.

Georgi hurried back to the camp, and looked round. "You know, the doppelganger was right," she announced. "How are we supposed to accomplish anything? This party is a mess. We need to get our act together. The doppelganger must have swapped with Gwalchmai during the battle, it all happened so fast... He could still be alive somewhere. We have to find him."
Who, me?!?
Darkpoet realized he had made a mistake, going down the river a ways. He took of his armor and set it neatly in a pile, against a tree. Cleaning up and changing his clothes, putting his sword, on his back. He had changed into dark green and black clothing, his cloak was different shades of greens and browns. He left everything that tied him to the Order, next to the tree. He made sure the leather gauntlet, hid the tatoo on his wrist. Putting on the cloak, he headed down the river. "If Waverly wants to kill them, I'm not sticking around to watch."

"Well I'm sorry," said Loner, losing her temper a little, "but I was nearly killed by two invisible stalkers and Kramor was turned to stone. I wake up, no one's around, I go a little way off to check things out, I come back, he's turned to stone AGAIN." She took a deep breath, calming a little. "And I saw Darkpoet coming away from the camp just as I was heading back."

"Look, I wasn't accusing you in particular, Loner. I was the one who just accused Gwalchmai of being a doppelganger, although admittedly it was true, and I don't trust Thantor, or Enoch, and I am even beginning to have my doubts about Darkpoet... I don't know who to trust anymore. If Gwalchmai was a doppelganger, how do we know there are no more of them here?"
Who, me?!?
"Forgive my temper," said Loner. "Just more evidence of what you said, everything is falling apart...the only way this could happen is through an inside job. Someone here has been working very hard to create tensions, worse than splitting us up geographically. Thantor has been my teacher for years; I know him, and unless there has been a serious, drastic change, he is to be trusted. I don't trust Darkpoet either though, and that other one, that...Enoch..." She shook her head. "He is not to be trusted. Not at all."

The semi-translucent form of the doppleganger slipped past Darkpoet as he bathed. He silently cursed himself for letting himself be attacked by Georgi, and he wondered why Waverly had tried to kill him. Flowing between Darkpoet's ankles, the doppleganger would have enjoyed killing him and taking his form, but he was far too weak from his wounds. He studied the form of Darkpoet, having unpresidented visual access to parts of the human not often seen by dopplegangers. Darkpoet's image may be useful at a later time, but for now, the doppleganger would have to heal; a long, slow process. Flowing into a swifter portion of the river, the doppleganger slipped away.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
Waverly happened upon the argument and immediately pounced. "I agree with Georgi, though I know I have yet to gain her trust, her desire to keep the group together is noble and I support it. She is also right about dopplegangers... they could be here still attempting to destroy us from within. I have my suspicions as well!" He drew his sword and glared at Loner...

Loner smiled slightly. She held out her arms, palms outward. "Go ahead," she said, focusing her gaze directly into Enoch's eyes. She was wearing the Katana, but how much more effective it would be, she thought, to disarm him empty-handed. She could do it. In the moment he drew his sword, she no longer needed to suspect. She knew that he was something much worse than an impostor...

As Darkpoet walked along the river, he came upon a caravan of travelers. They invited him to stay at their came, Darkpoet thanked then and said no. When he got out of sight of them, the tatoo, started to burn. "No, not now. I'm not far enough away." Holding on to his wrist, he dropped to his knees. The burning got worse, Darkpoet passed out from the pain.
As night fell, screams of panic and dying filled the forest, a shadowy figure moved through the camp. Cutting and stabbing, impaling people to tree branches. The figure moved away, looking for something else to kill. The sounds of terror, filled the forest as it struck again.
