Order of the Dark Flame (Story, No Spam)
“Loner, I am relieved you are alright. Please don’t exert yourself on my account. You need rest and your wounds need tending. The pain has made you delirious, I know you would never abuse an ally so. I forgive you.” Waverly got up and dusted himself off, upon seeing Kramor in the flesh once again he frowned ever so subtly.
With a hint of sarcasm, he exclaimed, “Kramor, good to see all is well. Dragon Wench sure arrived at the right time.”

Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time
Loner didn't trust this...man as far as she could toss a black dragon. But she figured it wouldn't be a wise idea to tell him so...She would play his game, at least for a while.
She felt herself losing consciousness and fought against it. She had to stay awake to fight him if he tried...
Everything went black.

Kramor fell to his knees, hugging Dw and thanking her. He ran to Loner, pushing Enoch away. "Leave her alone, I think you have helped enough."
Picking her up, he carried her to their tent. Kramor, gently put Loner on the cot. Then cleaned and healed her wounds, moving the hair from her forehead, he gently kissed her. Leaning against the cot, Kramor fell asleep, with his sword in his hand.

Thinking on Sir Enoch’s admonition, Gwalchmai realized that the game may require more subtlety than usual. He went to the river to wash off the ashes of the fire, and found Vivien sleeping on a large rock. He sat next to her and studied her face. The length of her hair, the shape of her nose, the small scar under her chin, every pore in her skin. She opened her eyes, and he saw the color and how the irises contracted against the light. He knew her face now, if the need ever arose.
“I feel I should apologize for knocking you down, earlier. A small rodent had startled me, and I over reacted to the touch of its flesh. Again, I apologize,” he said while admiring the changing currents of the water.

That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Having dozed off, Georgi awoke to the chaos in the camp, and saw Loner attack Enoch, then Kramor carry her into their tent. She was immediately wide awake, and grabbed Enoch. "What happened?"
"I don't know, my lady, Loner fainted before she could tell me. I found her hurt in a clearing a little to the east, and Kramor was turned to stone."
"Did you see anyone else? What on earth is going on around here?"
"No one, I'm afraid." Enoch took her hand anxiously. "If there's anything I can do to help... anything at all..." he said, giving her a meaningful look.
Georgi hardly noticed, as one piece of the puzzle suddenly clicked into place in her mind. Slowly, she took her hand back. "Perhaps later..." she muttered absent-mindedly, watching Gwalchmai leave the camp. "Excuse me, I must speak with Gwalchmai." She hurried after him, towards the creek.
As she approached, Georgi saw Gwalchmai bending over someone... "Vivien!" she yelled. "Are you okay?"
Gwalchmai turned around, as Viv sat up. "Georgi... I'm fine, why what's wrong?"
Georgi pointed her sword at Gwalchmai. "Get away from him, Viv. That's not Gwalchmai."

"I know what you are!" Georgi cried. "Where is he? Is he dead?"
Vivien had got up and backed away from Gwalchmai. "You noticed it too? I thought it was just me..." Georgi's words registered on Viv's face. "You think he's..."
"I hope not, but I know someone who is going to be dead very, very soon." She turned her attention back to Gwalchmai. "Why don't you tell me who your master is? I'll make your death quick and painless."

Gwalchmai looked pleadingly at Vivien, "Georgi seems to think I'm a doppleganger! Do you think so too? But I know I'm me! I don't even see how such a thing is possible. You slaughtered all of the dopplegangers that attacked at the army camp the other night!"
Vivien thought about it for a second, "He might be right Georgi. We killed all nine of 'em the other night."

"Where and how did this switch take place? Why did no one notice? I mean, I'm pretty observant, you'd think I would have noticed SOMETHING."
She thought she heard Darkpoet snicker at that, but he could have been coughing.
"The bottom line is; innocent until proven guilty. Let's not be too hasty."
Viv stood next to Gwalchmai, giving him a supportive, yet concerned, glance.

Waverly watched the proceedings with amusement. Maybe they could even be brought to blows. He decided that since Viv seemed to be of a different mind than the others, he could use that to form a rift.
"Viv is right. Why all the suspicion? This man is your friend and you draw weapons on him?... I ask who here has proof and not more intangible 'feelings'?

Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time
"Darkpoet, please friend, let's not resort to violence yet. Maybe if we talk to him, maybe we can figure out just what happened. I don't want innocent blood on my hands."
Vivien gave Enoch a relieved glance, at least someone saw her point that there was no need to be hasty.
Edit: Oops
Enoch,not Waverly

'Gwalchmai' thought for a moment. These foolish fleshlings had already guessed the truth. If he sided too readily with the good Sir Enoch, that might cast aspersions on Enoch’s subterfuge. Though he did not know what machinations Waverly planned, the Master would surely disembowel any servant that interfered. ‘Gwalchmai’ decided on a different tact, “How would Darkpoet know how many dopplegangers there were that night? He wasn’t even there! Perhaps HE is the hidden enemy you seek!”
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.
"Pointing at Enoch, you are going to trust him? Ha." Darkpoet looked at Waverly, who just lifted an eyebrow.
"Fine, you do what you want. Don't say I didn't warn you. Like you listen to me anyhow, you are on your own, ladies. I see you don't need me any more good day."
Darkpoet walked away, shaking his head. He had already made up his mind to go back to the Radient Heart, there has to be a war, somewhere.
