Yep, with your current discussion they are both differing points but there isn't a norm to work from so i decided CM goes first, when there is a stable arguement like the alcohol one then the arguer against goes first...make sense?

That is up to Tom, if Tom really wants to get the ball rolling then he can, i think it should start out with opening statements - much like court - and then two more replies and then that is that

It is negotiable who starts the process since the arguer in most of the topics so far have been fairly ambiguous. If we have the opening statements idea then nothing will be gained from who starts...
