[QUOTE=Woozaii]I actually find rats and ants and mantises VERY annoying when i am strolling the deserts. I move one step, i am attacked by mantises. I kill them, get 100 exp.
Then i move one more step, i am attacked by rats. I kill them, get 300 exp.
THen i move one more step, i am attacked by giant ants. I kill them, get 300 exp.
Then i move one more step, i am attacked by mantises. I kill them, get 125 exp.
Then i move one more step, i am attacked by rats. I kill them, get 250 exp.

Then i move one more step, i am attacked by rats. I kill them, get 50 exp.
Then i move one more step, i am attacked by giant ants. I kill them, get 75 exp.
You get the picture, i am sure... When i have been doing that for 20 minutes i no longer mind wasting rocket ammo just to get rid of them!!

But that's where good Outdoorsman skill and perks like Scouting and Cautious Nature comes handy...

I buy up every outdoorsman training book I can find, to get that skill up over 100. Those books can be found or bought in a lot of places. They can be bought from people in random encounters around NCR and SF. Then, later in the game, I can choose to avoid critters like rats and mantis.

That's true, and perks like Scouting is also usefull to get those special encounters, so being able to avoid rats/mantis/etc. shouldn't be a problem in later game

personally I don't spend points on outdoorsman, neither I get any perk related to it. I think it's kinda a waste!
Still, sparrow is right. It´s very easy to find books of outdoorsman's skill. As at late game money should be no problem, you can buy a lot of those books to raise your skill and evade those encounters. Even thought, I don´t mind to much for them, and I prefer raising other skill's, like steal, sneak or doctor's.

My vote goes to Marcus.
I tried to have him on my party, but he never knew what weapon to use. Always wasting rockets on rats and using a flamethrower (or worse, punching) enclave soldiers. I mean, I would like to just give him a mini-gun and let him go, but he still feels the need to punch people, and he tends to kill - dogmeat - robodog - cyberdog - sulik - deathclaw allies - cows (when doing caravan runs) - and all sorts of other potential allies too much to be worth my time.
and as was mentioned earlier, he is one of the least customizable party members in the game, plus you have to do all those quests and running around just to get him.
But then, I prefer dogmeat to every npc in the game.

There's a nasty way to get rid of those kids. Get a dynamite, give everything else from your inventory to one of your followers, set the timer on one minute and let the kid pickpocket you.T'rissirahc wrote:my vote goes for Pickpocketing Kids. I always had to transfer all of my items to Cassidy or Sulik, damn that was annoying.![]()

If I recall correctly, you don't become a Childkiller if you do that.T'rissirahc wrote:hey, that's a nice way. I like it. (but won't receive a honorable title "childkiller"?)
I mean, I know how to plant a bomb without being spotted, but hell, I received a "gravedigger" while digging in Golgotha at night...![]()
As for gravedigging, you get that perk if you dig any grave except Anna Winslow's (The Den) and a couple of graves in Golgotha, more precisely, the one where the ghoul is buried and Pretty Boy Lloyd's stash. There may be another grave or two I forgot about, though.
