Kangaxx, The Demilich doesn't want to die
I did it
I finally beat that no-good lich!
I think it was more luck than judgement really, but here goes:
My party entered and started attacking. Got Kangaxx down to 'near death' and then had one of my mages cast 'Limited Wish'.
I chose to polymorph into other (incidentally this was the first time I had ever got a Limited Wish to work for me, and not against me!. My mage polymorphed into a Mind Flayer. Two seconds later the Lich was dead.
Now it's onto the Twisted Rune!
** Thanks for all your input guys. It's all be of great value **

The Iron Golem from Shapechange is about the same idea, except that it easily clobbers the summons as well.

Strange, but while polymorphed into a mustard jelly I did get killed by Howl. Dunno if that was a bug or what, but it was most annoying and I haven't tried it since.
Just like to take a minute to tell everyone how much I enjoy the boards here. The members are always willing to help and the technical knowledge of some of the regular posters is quite impressive. I've found a lot of useful information, links a patches just by "lurking" on these boards (which I did quite a bit of before I got up the nerve to post anything myself)
