First of all, congratulations with your new title Wrath
.
And back on subject.
Hmm I understood the Frank's History, but who's Chris Avellone?
Chris Avellone is (or was) a game designer for Fallout 2, and Planescape Torment. A few years ago he founded Obsidian entertainment who have released Knights of the old Republic 1 and 2.
q1: oh yeah, I'm aware of it... but I wish to know if the Strategy you meant is like Age of Empires (which I seriously doubt) or like Swat2 (or maybe Commandos and it's gender...)?
Hmm... A mix of Commandos and Fallout and... umm... Your everyday shoot'em up action game.
q2: its not a continuation of fallout universe? there's no mention of the 'Vault Dweller' on it? you don't have to fight the Khans? or maybe boneyard? is it a completly different game?
Nope. No Vault Dweller. No khans (but there are a lot of raiders). Absolutely no Boneyars. Yes, its an almost completely different game.
Let me put it this way. There is no Speech skill...
But Fallout Tactics is still worth its cost if you ask me. Its an interesting game, with an intriguing storyline, and its designers have done their best in preserving the spirit, even under those circumstances.

Equalization is good.
Payback isnt.

If I may ask, let's keep this topic out from this thread. You have already made a thread where this discussion could be included. After all, how much this has to do with the meaning of this thread, differences between Fallout 1 and 2?Woozaii wrote: Chris Avellone is (or was) a game designer for Fallout 2, and Planescape Torment. Also a bit offtopic.Hmm... A mix of Commandos and Fallout and... umm... Your everyday shoot'em up action game.
I wouldn't compare it to Commandos, since Commandos doesn't have anything that has something to do with RPG genre. It's more tactics, and pure that.
JA2 is more close to it, like I said my previous post.
IIRC (it's been a long while since I played anything in the Fallout series), some of the vaults were set up to have failings by the Enclave. It was like a giant human rat experiment - the President wanted to see how people reacted to their dire situations. Plus, they wanted a crop of people from these vaults to compare to the 'mutated' population that was forced to live on the surface, a'la Arroyo.
Hm, i think i didnt explain myself properly. I meant that the vaults that Vault-Tec (The enclave) had build for themselves were better armed to survive the aftermath of the war, and the time ahead. The civillian vaults were the ones filled with guinea pigs, while The enclaves own vaults were simply shelters from the bombs.

Dude? Obsidian entertainment is not InXile entertainment. Wrath asked who Chris Avellone was, and i gave him an answer...

. Thats not offtopic man, thats just a disagreement. You might say its like JA2, i say its more like commandos. Commandos doesnt have anything to do with rpg genre? Neither has Fallout Tactics, so i think i am very on topic actually.. Why am i wrong?? Did you read this thread trough archives?? Or did you mean that you were offtopic? I am confused.
Anyway, this seems to be the end of this thread, and i would just like to say that it was a great one. I salute Wrath for starting it, and everyone else for keeping it going. Lets all agree that it has been a grand tribute to our lovely forum!
Also, does anyone know why my post was moved? when i posted it, it was right after Wraths questions about Fallout Tactics
??? (The post i am talking about, is the one where i explained who Chris Avellone is( No. 22))

Sorry, my mistake, but still my opinion about offtopic stays...Woozaii wrote: Dude? Obsidian entertainment is not InXile entertainment. Wrath asked who Chris Avellone was, and i gave him an answer...
Well, when I spoke of offtopic, I meant that Fallout Tactics doesn't have anything to do with the fact that which one is better, Fallout 1 or 2.. Thats not offtopic man, thats just a disagreement. That discussion was okay in otherwise.
BUT, to get pack to the topic of this thread, I must confess, since I started playing Fo1 again today, it does have that feeling which can not be found from Fo2.
That still doesn't mean that I like Fo1 more, they are in a way so different, so being able to say which one is actually better is very hard.
