P.S. after this life changing experience is when you start to write your memoirs, change your life, become an envangelist, die at the age of 105, and then release those memoirs and a collection fo your other works, in a 23 volume series three years after your death.

LOL! I had a colonoscopy about two years ago. All I saw was a bunch of young, nubile female nurses, to whom I was about to show my bum. Then, mercifully, they knocked me out.

If that's your idea of enlightenment, go for it.

I havent had a colonoscopy yet, although I have had 3-4 (losing count) endoscopies, including one that revealed an ulcer in my duedonym when I was in the Fourth Grade (about nine to ten years old).

Good luck at the cardiologist. Since some tissue around the infarct dies due, it takes some time for the heart to heal, so it's good that it'll be another two weeks until the stress tests. Let's hope the medicines work, if not, a bypass is a good solution. I know many people who have undergone bypass surgeries, it's routine nowadays although people will of course be tired some weeks after.

It's good to hear the damage was minor. Scar tissue is often as strong as or stronger than muscle fiber and if the surrounding areas are still healthy and intact, you should suffer no long term residual effects. As far as Bypass surgery, things have improved exponentially since I first went to work with the heart team. In some cases here, our surgeons are doing grafts through endoscopes now without cracking the chest. Depending on where your blockages are, this might be an option for you. Von is right about the vein grafts lasting about ten years; however, they are still the best option as far as I know. Hopefully the meds you are taking will do the job and you can avoid a major rebuild

The anaesthetics made me fell warm and fluffy, and I do remember eerything being a blissful white color, i thought I was in Heaven, but a sign at the gate said 'Neverland Ranch'. Dunno where that is...

Sorry to hear of this Fable, I truly hope you continue to recuperate and that any treatments you pursue are successful. I know what it is to feel haunted by family medical backgrounds..

Thanks all! The doctor saw me today, and we discussed contents of diet and exercise. (Also one drug, a beta blocker to lower blood pressure, was switched out with something else, because I was having increased asthma problems.) The stress test is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon. I'll post the results of her findings after that. Hopefully, it will show that the meds are sufficient to handle problem without a bypass.

What about the diet and exercise? Are you going to have to make radical changes? I got the impression you weren't living very unhealthy before this thing started.
I remember when my father started having some heartproblems, the first thing he had to stop doing was... vacuum-cleaning. So if you play your cards right, household-chores might be a thing of the past for you.

I had the stress test, today, and the results were good: no bypass for the Babylonian god, at least, not in the immediate future. There is a very small section of the heart muscle that is nothing now but scar tissue; that's it. I'll be seeing my cardiologist again in about 2 months, and the stress test will be repeated in a year, but she feels that if I stay on all 8 of the meds, keep to eating reasonably and pick up exercise a bit, things should be fine.
