Evil Islands is a pretty good CRPG. P:T is possibly the best CRPG I've ever played (it ties BG2, in any case), and IWD is very good, if you're just into combat. Arcanum and PoR are just over the horizon, about 30-45 days out. And you maybe able to find Betrayal at Krondor in some cut-out bins for all of $9.95 US. For all that its graphics are dated, it was way ahead of its time, and is still a great deal of fun to play.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Daggerfall a great game? Yeah right. I enjoyed and finished may CRPG games except this gem. If you like Daggerfall, you would also enjoy grabbing a fist of sand, and trying to get a count of the grains. Yes it is huge, and you have a lot of freedom. In the end, it's all just repeativeness with no goal. I don't mind the graphics because I can use my imagination. It is the repeativeness that killed. Yes, the game is buggy as hell, and I couldn't finish it because of a bug of not finding an item to continue.

Yes, Deus Ex is an action shooter, but it allows you to customize your character as you gain experience, and this directly affects gameplay.

You might try
Avernum 1 and 2 and nethergate from spiderweb software
great turn based crpg action
and the best part is you can down load the a huge playable demo for each to see if you like them (full game is only a reg key away after that)
