@KensaiRyu - no offence man but you just summoned skeleton *warriors*. Sure its a spell but face it, the mage needs fighters to do the killing for him. There's nothing wrong with that. The fighters *need* mages to defeat spell protections.

@Manveru - never played a monk but they sound like one-man armies at high level.

@Nighthawk - yeah, that's kinda what I'm saying. Not that I want to whirl through the game in record time but fighters are far more efficient at this killing business. I don't have the inclination for this "preparation", "resting" and "casting time" Image

I'm a blockhead. Show me the enemy and I'll tear into 'em.

Oh yeah, and mages smell.

i agree with grunt boy, when playing as an evil half-orc barbarian (man he was sooo tough) i was looking forward to getting edwin as i had not had him b4 as i was good, however i hardly used him, after the underdark i am sure he barely fired off one spell, me and korgan (both with boots of speed) simply waded in and chopped up everything into little tiny pieces, i simply used edwin to remove wizards protections in order to slice up mages.

i had a truly brilliant Sorcerer but i found that i would sacrifice killing some opponents just so i could let off spells that crash my computer, my people would get pummeled and the spell would be crap.... only useful in certain situations, sort of like Contraception.... Image

Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
