No. Polish and Czech were closer than Danish and Islandic though. Another try? :)

Speaking in 1337 pretty much equates to writing in another language does it not? (as this thread has adequately pointed out) Well for the sake of consistency could you please stop using the I337 language. When someone starts posting inanother language that the board as a whole doesn't understand then we all gripe yet how is I337 any different?

Not really, they still write in English, just not using the same letters. I do think it's pointless and stupid and agree that people should stop using it though. :D ;)

Vicsun, is it meant to be written like that or has it been transliterated? (i.e. another script, like...Cyrillic?)

One could quite easily find a dictionary for a foreign language and spend the time translating it and that is exactly what one is doing with I337, translating.

Still English, like Georgi said

This I337 thing is not a language, maybe a font or a symbol or a lock(exist this expression?)

The proof is that I can still write in I337 using other languages, like French, Portuguese, Spanish...
[Sorry about my English]

@Lock, not sure what you mean?

Still would the average Spanish or French person understand what you were communicating?

Lock: I mean something near a encrypt comunication.
[EDIT]: I mean Code. {Exactly Kamaleon, Thank you}

Exactly the same way you can understand your friends writing in I337 English; I can understand someone writing in 133t Portuguese, since I can understand portuguese. Since we all use the same alphabet.

I think Kam is right about lock

I can understand it but i don't read it like i do English, i can't speed read through it. Plus some people just can't grasp a different form of the same language, i have no problems with other languages, i have picked up reading music in the past with no real struggle, however others do struggle to pick up a deviation in language. I just find the language to be pointless *shrug*

I also think it makes a person sound incompotent, the people who usually use this type of language or not exactly going to win any Nobel prizes.... that assumption is probably me being a snob though ;) :D

I open it up to a debate, anyone who can come up a with a concerted and intelligent reason for it's existence on SYM may just stop me deleting the I337 replies...
