BTW - I've always wondered why NONE of the heros in "Fantasy" films and/or books thought of the most convenient way to save the virgin from being sacrificed too the dragon...

I'm regrettably not a really "black" humorist...more of a dark grey

You're not missing out on much (re the dark grey humor), you still get all the good comebacks and don't feel so mean over the running commentary in your head at the antics of the rest of the world. Also having a black sense of humor tends to make you feel older and sadder when you read the paper and other documents of human activity.

Mine's just a single voice with a penchant for cynicism and a particular love of irony and poetic justice (hence the sword name in the DF story), but I know what you mean. It's actually quite useful a lot of the time, but it can be annoying. When I was undergoing that hypnotherapy it kept up a running commentary and distracted my conscious mind so the therapy didn't work. If humans ever become telepathic I'll be murdered within a day because of that voice.

The only time it ever shuts up is when I'm reasonably stoned, which is part of the enjoyment of the experience.
