I guess I should had more clear. Looking back at my childhood, I didn't get much, my mother bless her heart tried. Raising two kids without the support of a husband is not easy.
To the point though, I find myself trying to make sure my kid gets a least a decent Christmas. Maybe my views are shaped by the events of my life.

Gee, my mom can afford it but doesn't seem to care to get me anything
My birthday gift was one video tape!

Isn't it suppose to be the thought behind the gift...not what the gift is?

Can't say I generally received more than that when I was growing up. We weren't exceptionally well-off.

Ever heard of Neverwinter Nights? Morrowind looks good.
I'd like a PC, I'd put money towards it. I'd also like a few CD's and books (I get them myselves but normally I enjoy seeing my little sisters face light up when she sees the presents under the tree, christmas mad!

It probably will not mean the same, but there is always a spare seat at our Christmas dinner just in case

Why, may I ask, are you skipping to important holidays, Thanksgiving and the mad celebration and drunkeness that equals Mardi Gra Delaware Day
