Baldur's gate 2 had a lot of bugs too. Some of them were only fixed by fans. I really can't remember a non-console game that didn't need a patch. Console games usually don't have patches. If I were unwilling to go on the internet I would buy an Xbox personally.
Of course I wish the first version would have no bugs too though! We can only ask (the developers).
[spoilers]An absolute disaster of a game...
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

But no game stoppers. You can play it successfully out of the box. I did, all the way through.Claudius wrote:Baldur's gate 2 had a lot of bugs too.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
What the developers don't seem to realise though is that in a few years nobody will be able to play their games - once the games get older, fewer websites are going to have the patches, so if the game is unplayable out of the box ...Claudius wrote:Baldur's gate 2 had a lot of bugs too. I still play many older games, and so do my friends, but with the way games are going its going to be hard finding the required patches to play modern games in 10 years or so.

I've thought about it! But I don't have a clue how to play an XBox; I don't fancy joystick controls at all; they are quite expensive still; and this PC isn't that old, so ... I probably won't.
But I have a Nintendo DS Lite...

Except that console games often tend to be a completely different kettle of fish...If I were unwilling to go on the internet I would buy an Xbox personally.
