Going back to the original point of this topic, Wraithlord register as The Wraith, and posted a topic in the BG2 forum. Uh, isn't he
not supposed to register again?
He says he got "rid" of his illegal copy and "got" a new one.

Right.
EDIT: Topic was deleted.

Posting in the SoA forum won't do him any favours...
Should of left it to PM's and e-mails IMO.

If he cleared it with Buck, that's cool--but I don't get that impression from his post. If he didn't, well, that's pretty stupid. Buck's an easygoing kinda guy, but flouting his judgements without even talking to him is not a real conversation warmer, if you follow my meaning.
I have to say, we've gotten a lot of mileage out of this topic. Littiz will obviously fit in well with our scheme of things, once he's gotten over the very natural human repulsion against spamming.

He is a sensible guy, untouched by the spamming fever.
He will learn soon enough of the power of spam...

I have been known to lurk around SYM in my lemur suit
is that a confession of having more than one name? what's your alter ego's name?

Alright...
First of all, Wraithlord has returned and posted another topic asking for forgiveness (which I deleted), claiming that he has thrown away his pirated copy of the game and went out and bought a legitimite one so that he is no longer in violation of the forum rules. I think that basically provides enough information right there that he was indeed using a pirated copy, and I have went ahead and banned his IP range to make sure he won't be coming back ever again.
Now, before you start thinking that I'm a cold, bitter administrator who loves to ban members, please hear me out. In the last year and a half, I have probably banned a half dozen people, and it is definitely not something I enjoy doing.
Put yourself in my shoes. Since I started this site, I have become fairly well known to several game developers, and email, ICQ, or even speak to some of them on a consistent basis. These are the people that provide me with answers to my interviews, press copies of games we cover (and some we don't), and lots of trinkets (signed posters, tshirts, etc). I will not sit back and watch ANY member post about how they are using a pirated copy of ANY game. There are people from Bioware, Black Isle, Wolfpack, Ubi-Soft, and other companies browsing these forums each and every day. How do you think they feel when they come to GameBanshee and read how some member has an illegal copy of their game?
The forum rules are there for a good reason, and I stand behind them 100%. If a member is not willing to abide by them and wants to discuss/promote software piracy, there are plenty of other forums out there that will welcome them in.

Baassie re-registered...and was banned again. All Wraithlord is doing is causing other people trouble. If he is on a dial-up..Buck (I believe) can block the whole IP range and stop him...but his next door neighbor will be banned as well.
You gotta love a person who sets his house on fire...then decides to come over and set your house on fire as well. (Sarcasm alert)
Edit...(Seems Buck is on the prowl)

wait a second, does that mean wraithlord won't have a third name? does that mean there will be no prize?!? maybe buck is cold and heartless.

(but he's not, of course)

Its always a treat having Buck posting around in SYM. Regardless of the situation.
*Remembers the day he answered my newbie question in the General Discussion forum* What a suprise that was

Yeah, Buck would be the perfect admin if he made me a mod.

what did baasie get banned for anyways? i remember when Buck answered all those questions people posted for him to answer, and then i claimed that El Matto was actually the person running the site, and then Fable or someone said something mean or something. that was my very first experience with gamebanshee, way back last august.

Yeah, I sure was surprised to see a message from the Ultimate Lurker. And you're right--it's always a treat. I remember the time he started the Tech Forum because of my suggestion--I was amazed!

I remember searching the SYM forum before Buck cut it in half to find out what Baasie did. It was very fragmented to say the least.
However I wouldn't be suprised if Buck lost his temper at him.
