It's the age of Reformation and the war over the Netherlands in Europe, as you know, and Rome found a new land to preach. When Portuguese & Spanish (Philip II was the King for both country) bought some lands for churches and merchant houses, Dutch warned Japanese government, "Spanish were planning to build fortresses to prepare their invasion". That's why Japan closed all contact to Europeans, and the Netherelands were awarded with trade. English left eventually, because they found more profit in India and America.

Sorry, I am lecturing...

PS. Games like Shogun were staged around this time Image That's why I cannot play the game (I know the result, and there is no IFs in history. I am a historian Image)

Sorry but we never said that we discorver you, besides we were real idiots since we give you all those nice riffles and help to restart a civil war, and we get kick out by "religious" problems.
Japan was never on top of Portuguese expancion and we never care about japan anyways since there was more profit with india spice trade.

Well, it's not Portuguese who caused the civil war Image (previous government collapsed 1533 and rifles were brought into Japan in 1543). And religious/expansion problem was more Spanish job (Felipe II!!), I know. But I saw the monument of discovery (or that kind of name) in Lisbon, and there was Japan in it.

Reformed, you say...? Image
We shall see...

It's 1.45 and I'm hungry. For last 1 hour, I'm contemplating whether I should eat something before going to bed...

Well, then, I'm afraid you need spamming all by yourself in a moment. I must go to bed Image

Oh, one question. How can I quote from other threads? I know you've done a few times...

Cut and paste is the way I do it.

Go to the message you want to quote and hit reply with quote and cut the message...then hit back.

Post your message and hit paste...

There might be an easier way...I not that good at all this computer stuff yet.

@Minerva....I believe I'm going to lay down for awhile myself.

Good night to you too.

So, you have Ubik as your supervisor, do you? I thought you are very much self made... Image

And how long are you planning to stay in the course? Image

I completed the MSc with minimal supervision. Now, like Darth Vader and Obi-wan, I was just the learner but now *I* am the master.

Dropped out of the PhSpam 'cos I already knew it all Image
