Post by tdjewel01 »

I really suck at this game...I am thinking about starting it over but yeah...
Here's what's happened...I am on the Telos surface...and I can't get past this one group of mercanaries...it pisses me off each time I die. Though I did make it through once or twice and my guys just went off to the next battle un healed and ****. Fisrstly...why the hell did they do that? Secondly....I used to be good at this game...on the Xbox...what do I do...am I not fighting right? Is there some trick I dont know. I hate to use cheats...but I am looking at it....I dont want to and I already tried it once and it didn't work... :( HELP!

I take it you're referring to the group of mercs around the corner from the lone merc with her two droids, as you approach the base. Wher that idiot Bao-Dur forces a dialogue, blowing your cover, followed by another forced dialogue with the merc boss.

That is an extremely annoying encounter, mainly because of the insane forced dialogues, and the fact that the NPCs then charge off and start another fight as yu've noted.

Unfortunately, because of Obsidians idiotic scripting the dialogues are unavoidable, I tried leaving Bao-Dur and my other NPC behind and sneaking, but as soon as I hit the trigger point Bao-Dur appears anyway and starts his inane speech. The only way around it is to forget the other two and take care of business yourself, let them act as cannon fodder (all Bao-Dur is good for anyway) and use hit and run tactics, using a disruptor rifle if you have one. Maany of the mercs have energy shields, Disruptors bypass them, hence the suggestion to use one, along with grenades of course.

When I was playing I also found out that these mercenaries are hard to hit. So you should equip youself with everything that improves your chances of hitting those damn guys. (of course also without losing too much defence and damage) Because, what's the point of having the most powerfull arsenal in the world if you can't hin anyone!
  :p ;) :D :o :( :)

One technique I used was to leave my NPCs around the corner, then I go solo up just close enough to get an enemy to chase me, then I run back to my party members where we gang up on the guy. It's important to have your NPCs not set on Agressive tactics. I usually set them on Ranged and give them blasters for these fights.

Mines And/Or Grenades Can Be A Solution

(On XBox if you have mines) Take Atton with you because as long as you live, he comes back to life even if to hit a foe once only. My first time here was extremely tough also. Since the NPC characters just keep on going chasing enemies everywhere, I decided to stay back and watch from afar in a corner where the mercenaries could not see me.

The corner is immeditely behind you to the left once the fight starts. I set mines in that corner and made each come after me (one at a time) and be blown up easily.

Last resort only - From afar, even if it costs your NPCs lives, use the best grenades you have, such as plasma to weaken your opponents then run back to the spot with mines.

Now, the ramp leading to the computer has turrets which are tough to beat (have everybody use melee with edges that are good vs. droids, not blasters against turrets) so keep hitting, disengaging combat mode, and running to a safe location to recuperate once you get there.

If you are a Jedi Consular, because of little vitality and strength, this may be a very tough fight ... but not impossible.

The other suggestions above are also great in combination with the mines. Use stimulants on your NPCs and keep monitoring their health, pausing to give medpacs to each or even better, advanced medpacs. In tough fights it is better to stay alive longer than to try and defeat enemies quickly, since successful hits are random, IMO.

Just do not use all medpacs you have yet because you are going to need them especially afterwards while still on Telos.

Remember to pause the game often to check each character's status and apply a medpac to the one that needs the most. Maybe Bao-Dur sucks and is the first to die almost always but while alive, make use of his energy breaker against foes with energy shields (on the action menu, the leftmost option has the shield breaker for Bao-Dur, select it and use it.) He is good at that.

Hopefully my suggestions here will not ruin your game. I personally think each one has a style of defeating enemies, so this may not work for you. Let me know if it works.
Carth: Wow. She really misses her droid, doesn't she?
Bastila: There is no need for you to make fun of her. She is obviously desperate.
Carth: I'll say.
Bastila: Carth! Enough!
