HELP! Darkness Eternal: The Gift (spoiler warning)

After a few contracts were completed for dark brotherhood, I was asked if I wanted to become a vampire, I chose yes.

So i go to sleep and when i wake I had a message saying I had been bitten and if i sleep again in 3 days I will be a full vampire, however it has not worked.

After that first bite I should have had night vision skill, but i didnt, my man looks completely normal and now it's been two weeks and still nothing.

Also whenever I click on that quest it's incomplete and shows I have to go to that IC mages academy and talk to that main mage guy (sorry it's alot to take in and havent got used to all the names yet) romanus polus or something lol. anyway when I go to see him he talks about stuff like rumors and recoomendations, but doesnt say anything that relates to vampires or this quest.

Why is this? Why didn't the gift work?

I became a vampire earlier in the game before joining DB and I done a quest to cure it, Is this why it hasnt worked?
does this now mean I can never be a Vampire again? or could maybe i have been wearing a block disease item without realising?

I'm new to the game, only lvl 4 nord and playing on xbox360 with all extras except shivering isles or whatever it's called lol.

Did you sleep in a bed, or did u wait? If you slept in a bed then you would have turned into a vampire, But if you waited then no vampire.
If you drank a cure disease potion then no vampire either. So i suggest to finish the quest, go to memorial cave then fight a vampire in there. Then sleep in a BED for 3 days then you should be a vampire, you might want to cycle through your active quest log to switch your quest back to the being bit one

EDIT: You cant become a vampire if you already got the cure.

I did drink a cure once but that was way before this quest.

I slept once in that guys bed to get bit and then I stayed awake for 3 days and then slept again, so i should have been sleeping those 3 days?

So i go to a cave now and get bit by a vampire, to turn into one, but will that have an affect on the quest? and hopefully complete it.

Soz I missed the edit part at the bottom of your post lol and just spent all night in the vampire caves, it said that I had it when i was fighting one, but again many hours in bed and nothing.

So when the witch told me to come back for more cure if i ever get bit again, that was just fifure of speach for the storyline?

So there is no way I can ever become a vampire again now in this game?

If that is so, that sucks, wouldnt have got the cure at the time had i known, it would have gone great with this part of the game.
