Jan or Imoen

I was thinking about having Keldorn and Viconia BOTH in my party, when determining which NPC's I wanted to have for the game ... until I heard about what Keldorn eventually does to Viconia. I decided to leave him out, since I really wanted to figure out the Viconia romance.

Still, the romance was broken off rather abruptly ... when Lloth's Handmaiden and some Demon appeared, trying to kill her. She didn't want to continue, since she didn't want to endanger my main.

I can only hope they will continue the plot in an expansion, or a sequal (if ever).

By the way, what kind of a lover are you?? You're dating someone, and someone kills her ... and yet you keep him around in your party??

I am sure that you all wanted to know so I dumped Jan and picked up Imoen.

Then the first trap I tried to disarm she got killed.

Is it even possible to disarm that crushing trap just west of the Bag of Holding in the lower level of the Asylum? I even tried using a potion to buff up her disarming skills and it did no good.

Dude Maurice, Keldorn with Carsomyr is a hella good badass. Hence I kept him; may not have been getting much loving, but that's the price for wanting to smite Irenicus.

It's probably possible, but just not with Imoen, that is a very advanced trap, like the one in Neb's house. Your best chance for disarming that trap is to level up Jan and slap all his points into disarm traps.
OR, you can do what everyone else does, just go around it ;P

I'm probably a bit late with this, but I just want to say I agree totally with your desicion. Jan just doesn't pull his weight. Imoen is plenty thief enough, and of course a hell of a caster. Keep her and Nalia. I'm fairly certain it's not possible to disarm that trap, I found Imoen capable enough in disarming and lockpicking everywhere else in the game.
