need some help please?

Post by pyper68 »

been playing DL now for some time and i've gotten through to see Davenmor but no one will let me upstairs to talk to Ellowynn's chambermaid... atm i'm not online and can't do any patches... could that be part of the problem? if not then how do you get upstairs to talk the that chick? Thanks for any help that you all may be able to offer...

If you're not using any of the patches (a bad idea), then you'll need to let all of the people you talk to finish their dialogue lines. If you cut them off, then that will mess things up.

Sir Edmund: "Should you obey the lord who asks you to put a village of innocents to the torch? Is that chivalrous? Is it noble?"
Me: "It's a great way to get promoted, I know that much."

You should have Davenmore's letter to get out of town by now. Check under letters in your inventory or just try to leave. You should be good to go. Unles you missed a dialog option with Davenmore.
You can go to the jail and talk to a prisoner there which will lead you to a fun little side trip. D

Yeah, that slum district is FUN in my opinion. But freaked me the hell out when I first got there (hadn't faught what I faced, previously). Watch out for the witches or whatever theyre called. They summon undead, and rats... she can be nasty. If you go into Custard Manor, watch out for the giant spiders, and Urchala (Tougher version of Headless Brutes), and then Esmeralda's ghost. I just killed Urchala, grabbed the map then got the *$&% out of there. :)

Witches can be tough but they give good exp points, good loot and they drop spells. So not all bad. Pause the game if you get put to sleep or cursed and you should be all right. D

Cheater? That seems a bit harsh :D . That was basically a tip for the newbie’s I'm pretty adept at getting around now with out using exploits in the game but good to know they are there. It doesn't always save the day. D

I can honestly, and sincerely say that I have graduated from pausing the game... only time I do that is when im being pelted by casters and im in that damn grasping vines or whatever the hell that nether spell is. Spells do not seem to break it, so they can hurt me a bit before I actually wake up (That spell lasts ENTIRELY too long imo).

Sure. *slips on the Ring of Protection* Bring it on grandpa!!! I think ive devised a way to kind of get an edge on duels... just summon a **** load of pets, theyll attack the person and that will interfere with their spells. If they cant cast on me to root me, I can get close, do my Ice, Fire, and Nova blasts, youll be hurting. Throw a few ice balls at ya, then do a chain Fire Burst (I have spent A LOT of money on that spell. I have 50 fire burst books*The recharging ones*). Neva even have ta use me weapons :P . If for some reason you do have the spell silencing spell, I can tear you apart with melee... do 20-30 pts of damage each hand, and have a freezing sword. Bye bye Blue :)

As a matter of fact, I do have the Silence spell, so nyah. And you can hurt me only if you can touch me. Or see me for that matter. Stealth + Backstab + Critical Strike = 1 dead Vequ :sniff, sniff: A second tier Marauder going up against a Ninja Lord with Critical Strike? I'll send flowers to your mom. :p

Ive never been hurt to the point that my Drain Life does any good. But I have 10 into that. As for sneak... what good is it? From what Ive seen, it's near useless. My Marauder has it, and has about 11 in it. From reading it, it sounds only like its good vs monsters, and if an ally is around. As for the backstab... nuh-uh. Ill just keep backflipping untill you're dead from my nukes :P Not to mention, I still have Freezing weapons to fall back upon... God damnot! I want to play some PVP... beh

Drain life great works with magic weapons. I used it in combinatioin with dual weilding a couple of magic weapons, and pretty much never had to use healing potions or crystals again.

Because by the time you finally figger out how to get us into a multi game, Dreamcatcher will have patched the game to the point that Sneak and Backstab work; and both will work much better for a Rogue/Ninja than for any other class as it should. I have a freezing weap too.. hehehe

IF they get working like many games have them. This is a game that kind of breaks a trend. In all the games Ive played, Sneak is like a melee version of an Invisibility spell for a melee. Like, for instance, on Shadowbane, Sneak would cost you stamina instead of mana like the Spell Invisibility. Backstab is a weapon power (its clicked activated, like a spell). From reading the descriptions, I dont believe they were intended like this. They sound passive... Like they'd only work on NPCs.
