A Fourth Moderator For SYM

Post by BuckGB »

Hello everyone,

By popular request, we've decided to add another moderator to the Speak Your Mind forum. So, I thought I'd drop in here to simply ask if any of you would be interested in such a position. Then, once we have a list of names, I'll post a poll for all of you to vote on who you'd like to see become our fourth moderator. Of course, this assumes that we have at least a couple of people interested in taking on such a prestigious role :) .

If you are familiar with the Speak Your Mind forum, and feel you would make a good moderator, then please reply to this post and let me know. Please include the time zone you live in as well, since it may be a deciding factor during the voting process.

I actually would care to nominate somebody else, if that's possible. I'd say DW would have to be it. She's a paying member, is online often, and is more than qualified. I imagine I'd like my boss to be like her. :D Whether or not she wants it is her own thing to decide, though.

But why she'd refuse such a wonderous promotion is beyond me. :)

lol A-C... I'm flattered... I think :o :D

And I thought you *liked* me!

Okay... I am actually at a point where I would be able to do it, though I'm sure there are others far more qualified than I. So in addition to throwing my own name into the hat I would also like to nominate Gwally, Ysh, BS, Scayde, Georgi and A-C. :D

note: I am in the Pacific Standard Time zone (Vancouver, BC)

Whomever you choose should be able to commit a good deal of time to monitoring things. A moderator who isn't around, isn't a moderator.

I would love to volunteer, but I'd need both a new e-mail (fresh from the spam mailiong lists that haunt me now to a point where it's unuseable :o ), and a lot of patience (which I could muster :o )

Anyway, I like the DW idea.

If it were needed, I could also take up moderating SYM.
(or other parts where it might be needed)

EDIT: somebody sticky this thread, so it dosen't sink to the bottom :)

Do we really need another one? I think we're OK without ... but if it is "popular demand," then I second Xandax.

Peace.

Yeah yeah, widening the competition won't help you... mwahahaha! :D :p

IMO DW would be a good mod, as would any of those named above. I wouldn't mind being a mod, I have internet access at work now, and I lurk a lot. :D Oh, and I'm in the UK.

Done.

T' is from the US. Arizona if I remember correctly...

...those nominated are excellent choices tho I would think that someone capable who resides in Europe would have the time zones covered any time of the day. :)

I forget. I think it would be better if we refrain from spamming this thread. ;)

Well, I'd like to be it for the fun of the thing, you know, but I dunno if anyone else can think the same.

But DW will be an awesome choice :D

DW, please, come forth and give us some light on this darkness...

Anyone who will keep their politics (mostly) to themselves. Of the people shown here, I would say: Bloodstalker or Xandax.

I want to note something that I had forgotten about. Although I actually live quite a distance from T, for all intents and purposes I live in the same time zone as she does, so people should bear this mind. :) Personally, I think somebody on the other side of North America or in Europe would be a better choice ;)

I think both Wench and Xandax would be great choices. From what I've seen the short time I've been here, both of you can mod me any day. :D Seriously, I think it's important for a mod in any forum to take part in the daily community, and not just lurk in the background and pop out to do the "mod thing."

I have a question that might affect the location concerns of a future mod: Are T'lainya or Maharlika considering quitting anytime soon?
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

You're nuts. :D

Thanks for the nomination, DW, but the problem with me is that I'm working on a school schedule nine months out of the year. Class breaks in two weeks, but I'd only be avaliable until we start the year up again in September. :) Besides, I'm US Central time, and I'm sure if there isn't a need for that zone.

But in addition for my nomination, I would like to include Xandax. The guys already got plenty of Mod experience, so let's just dish him a little more work if it's necessary. :)
