Post by Minerva »

I am looking for a utility which accelerate the download speed. After checking Download.Com, I found many of them contains spywares.... or, so it seems.

Do you have any recommendation for good download-helping utility, preferably free?

When it comes to software, "free" = "includes advertising crap". My personal preference is Getright, and it's only US$25.

Is it really possible to speed up download?
I always thought it was nonsense.

How much would faster would it be?

It effectively does, as it removes the chance of being cut off and having to start the download again. Very annoying if you get 99% through a 10MB file and someone picks up the phone.

Yup, that's the main reason I want those program. I used to have Download Accelerator Plus, and it helped a lot, particularly I'm living in an old house in the countryside. Lots of noise in a bit unstable line.

DAP was okay, but I'm wondering if there's something better available.
