Celebration! A horrible experiment in social psychology
Celebration! A horrible experiment in social psychology
In honour of Minerva and Darkpoet reaching 5K and 4.5K respectively this evening, I will celebrate by starting a social psychology experiment where I will encourage you all to let your wildest fantasies prejudices flow freely

Now I'm back. This is the background:
In my master year at university, I and some of my classmates held a course in social psychology for the younger students. We decided to kick off the course with a little lab, in order to demonstrate phenomena such as generalisation, prejudice, pre-knowledge etc.
In our respective classes, we teachers introduced ourselves and the subject for about 5 minutes, then we instructed the students to make an assessment of us. The students got a questionnaire where they should write they thought about the teachers' hobbies, family, political views, etc.
After that, the teacher came back, and the results were discussed. We laughed like crazy all of us
The students had to make these assumptions based on hasty impression and superficial factors like clothes and looks. Now, my idea is to turn this experiment around and make assessments of superficial things from the more in depth information we have of each other here at SYM.
So,
1. Looks: What famous person do you think <username> look most like?
2. What clothes do you think <username> would wear when he/she
a) is going to have a dinner date with someone really exciting and interesting?
b) is relaxing at home, alone?
c) is going to a big wild party?
Please do add other creative situations to my list
I don't think I'll have to ask for it
I'll start off with #1 myself:
Darkpoet: Tom Cruise
T'lainya: Geena Davis with blond hair
Fable: Anthony Hopkins
Georgi: female lead actress in the Matrix (sorry, I don't know her name)
